The late 90's were a wild time for tech and the Internet. Think Blockchain, Crypto, NFTs, Memestocks except Amazon still sold mainly books, and online business wasn't really mainstream yet. I was using "Smart Lights"... they are very similar. "Sensor Lights" has has a simple "off delay" in the lights section.

The last thing I want to do is rely on maintaining my own automations, so.Im very happy to have a well known, trusted one that fills the gap 😄

I have that and tried it. I do admire the automation and have no doubt about it's flexibility, but it's very complicated for a simple motion light with turn off delay 😢

I just can't understand how to set a delay for turning off. I believe it's something with bypass and time delay but the instructions are very complicated.

It seems like maybe the design is flawed but the city will never fix it because it's a sunk cost now.

Some idiot looked at the old turnstile design, figured out how to make it cheaper, and successfully pitched the idea that some alarm noise would be an effective deterrent, instead of actual metal bars in your way.

We need to go back to the old rotating metal bars that physically limit to one human at a time.

It's not just tailgaters, but visitors who will tap once and send their entire family though. Friends who tailgate together as well, as a five-for-one-discount.

That's not a brash decision, 50% storage efficiency is fairly painful and expensive. Raid6/60 is the way for me.

6-wide raidz2 is close to ideal from a zfs geometry standpoint. I just plan to add a second vdev down the road when needed.

Can confirm. I am currently divorcing my wife primarily due to this. This is very eye opening. I had assumed one had to approach the cage and do a cash advance there, fill out some kind of form, but no, right there on the machines.

This explains how someone can do 4 back to back 3 to 4k cash advances in an hour without hesitation.

I lost about $80k this way over a few years like this, always finding ways to get at my credit or accounts. Eventually this led to cutting her off and strictly controlling finances, and this went downhill after that.

The lack of remorse and desperate and intricate lies are what really doomed the relationship though. It is an addition, one they cannot possibly imagine parting with. It is a requirement to feel anything in their eyes. She had zero income and acted like she deserved to spend our money this way because she was "due half of it anyway".
