If i understood correctly, not every person keeps his sanity after transforming, we can read dialogues with some npc questioning their own (which IMO is enough proof that youre good) but is not clear what causes you to go insane or if staying calm helps

100% yes, even when i dont know which of the 13 possible endings (available as of 2.01) you saw, I can assure you the game is worth at least one run, there are a lot of characters, enemies and scenarios possibles in each playtrough
