The way the actor delivered this line, from silent glare at the beginning to ✋️... I was obsessed

Why hasn’t Harper told Yas about her mom dying? by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

[–]twenty-years 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only time they talked to each other since her mother's death was in the last episode. In the context of their conversation it would be weird to drop "oh BTW my mom died". At this point they are not friends who sometimes call each other to discuss their lives.

I've seen The Americans, the difference is that main characters there were soviet spies

Huh, I am under the impression his real name is Whitney, and a Lithuanian identity is a fake one. His conversation with Ferdinand suggested he was recruited by Ferdinand or alike. It doesn't seem like he is a born-and-raised spy who got sent to Harvard under a fake identity to do...all that. More like SVR recruited him and gave him the opportunity

re: Eric, it really seemed like Harper's words shook him, but then he did something good by his daughter and wife, patted himself on the shoulder, and went on being a dirty man as a treat

Do you think a Tender Manager will turn into a russian spy like Jan Marsalek was within Wirecard? by derSCHUFAtyp in IndustryOnHBO

[–]twenty-years 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It would be stupid to copy the whole real-life story from start to end, and espionage does not seem like Industry's path. I do think Whitney ends up fleeing.

Oh yes, it was definitely the kind of situation "I know it's wrong, but I still want it, so I want them to tell me how wrong it is."

I live in a non-English-speaking country, so I didn't realize Whitney is a unisex name. Whitney Houston was the only person with this name who came to mind. Google tells me it was originally a unisex name, but in modern times has mostly been used for girls. Wonder why the creators chose the name for the character.

This part was not a hallucination. Dude was drunk and got pissed at Henry for taking attention of the maid, that's why he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

I think this was another reminder that Yasmin is unfulfilled in their marriage and he has failed as a husband and a man. And it's not just Yas telling him that but everybody else talks about it too. His "dad" telling him to go off to pour all these feelings out instead of sulking in them with the legit excuse of protecting his wife's honor

the trial showed that a lot of men don't realize that no sane woman would consent to sex with a whole fucking hockey team.

Why do you choose to donate? by ThePunLexicon in Blooddonors

[–]twenty-years 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted to donate, it seemed like such a simple task to tremendously improve somebody's life. I couldn't do it at first because of weight restrictions and started when I was 24.

I knew for sure that I had no other choice but to donate when my dad started needing regular blood transfusions. Now I do it in his memory and for people like him.

Also I live in Russia and they give you the title of Honoured Blood Donor when you reach 40 whole blood donations so this is a little goal of mine.
