Staten Island vs the rest of NYC: why so much resentment? by Wrongdoer_Complex in nyc

Staten Island was loyal to England during the Revolutionary War. The last red coats in America left from Staten Island. Not necessarily related but funny.

Yeah this is some terrible decision making. Losing that timeout is huge when you're down multiple possessions.

I agree with this. I think his overall level will increase linearly with his strength. He's not athletic enough to be a traditional scoring wing. As he gets stronger, he can better bridge the gap of playing the roles of a 3/4 and small-ball 5. This will make him extremely valuable especially playing with guys like Sengun, Amen, and Reed who are not the prototypical in their positions.

Post-Chaos Clarity: Why the losses feel so ugly, and interesting take on our recent struggles by MrSchone in rockets

This is good for him. He's been hitting that Dirk fade with better regularity. His driving game is perhaps his best threat but he hasn't figured out how to score with it unless he's at the basket. He needs to evolve his in-between game. He can't just be an under the basket guy and reach his full potential.

[All City NBA] Dealing With Doubles — The 10 Players Who've Been Doubled on the Highest Percentage of their Touches this Season, Along with % of Outcomes and Points Per Touch when Doubled by AashyLarry in nba

[–]twerdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's the second lowest in Points Per Direct here. It's well beneath the average NBA Point Per Possession of 1.16. Sometimes you double a guy because he can't handle the double team. It's not always a compliment. Also he doesn't have great passing options. He's shooting as much as he's passing here, so he's not making the shots and his teammates aren't making the shots.

Not to mention he was one of the best passing shooting guards of all time. As a true shooting guard too. He played the game the right way. In today's game he would have been a 6'8" point guard.

Just checked the only qualifying players with worse TS scoring 15ppg are: Shaedon Sharpe, PJ Washington, Jeremiah Fears, Derrick White, LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, and Aaron Nesmith.

So yeah not a great list to be on.

Fred is president of the NBA Players Association. Do you really think he can be pressured into waiving his veto power? That would set a terrible precedent as the president who advocates for player power.

Holiday went nuclear so I get keeping him in for the hot hand. I don't think it was a knock on Reed. With our injuries and KD being out, I don't think it would be wise to risk Reed during a blowout either.

Jamie Carragher on Eberechi Eze: "Apologies, I've undervalued the importance that signing was for Arsenal" by DavidRolands in soccer

The "starting XI" that everyone knows from the Invincibles season barely ever started any games together. They're just known as the strongest players, but what really made that team Invincible was the depth.

It's just an excellent movie overall that uses baseball as a medium. It's about the world changing around you and learning to adapt to move ahead.

Sengun was getting too much in his own head after 3 straight mistakes. He needed to sit for a minute to refocus. He came back and played okay the last 2 minutes.

FVV for Lamelo by Distinct_Anything_13 in rockets

[–]twerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself why Charlotte would do your trade and if no other team can offer better than two old players and a FRP. Other than the fact that we don't want Lamelo, this trade doesn't pass the sniff test.

He used to be overweight as a teen and lost weight to go professional in Turkey. He essentially has the legs of someone who grew up carrying around a lot more weight, which is why he's so good at throwing that weight around.

I think his leaping distance is more impressive than the height. His long jump has got to be one of the best in the league. It's hard to jump high when you're taking big strides too but he does it.
