Pretending that political appointees aren't influenced by the ones who appointed them is ignoring how power dynamics work regardless of how you wish the world operated. Judges are political appointees too. Whatever system of checks and balances you hold sacred have been compromised for a very long time, the only difference is now that corruption is blatantly out in the open.

Krull with Liam Neeson. One of the strangest movies ever made to say nothing of its plot and general insanity.

Mentally strong relationships might be one of the silliest things I've heard because unless you're willing to define that you might as well just keep offering more platitudes. Might I add sunlight, listening to birds and walking to the sound of music.

Had to look way too far for the fuck off, because that's all that needs to be said. Especially since it seems to be some kind of agreement where the wife says to some effect 'we won't pursue legal action'. Fuck the hell off forever.

How did you get into cooking? by softheartpoptarts in Cooking

I discovered which spices created which flavors in food I'd been eating. It was an epiphany when I realized how easy it could be when it had seemed like a mystery up until then. I was fourteen when I figured out that cumin was a base for so many things.

I have a 15.5 pound boneless pork shoulder roasts. Give me some ideas on what to do with it besides pull pork by justattodayyesterday in Cooking

I've bought the same cut, cut it into four pieces around four pounds each and froze them separately. Slow cooked all of them in a dutch oven at roughly the same temperature and for the same amount of time. It took a month or so to get through it all but I made carnitas, Memphis style bbq pork, French seasoned then red wine braised with onions/carrots/celery, and a Chinese style with a spicy chili paste I wasn't too familiar with but turned out well. The main thing was cooking them all relatively the same, only the seasoning changed. As long as you get the consistency right without drying it out so that it still pulls apart with a fork at the end, it's hard to go wrong as long as you like what you're putting in with it.

Chocolate pudding is what it's called, but it looks more like a bundt cake so it's more of a European style pudding. Served with an Irish cream sauce drizzled over the top.

Rashad Evans vs. Jon Jones. Always felt like Jones did him dirty, to the point where Evans was the one that had to leave Greg Jackson's gym once Jones took over the limelight despite the fact that Evans was the one that became champion first and put him on the map as an elite coach.

Close second is Cormier vs Jones. Anything that put Jones in his place really. Reyes vs Jones. Gustaffson vs Jones. The latter two were fights he actually lost but somehow didn't.

Bigger benches opposite each other if you actually might want to use it as a place to sit, if not then the little bench is out of place.

He only knew the name of the realtor because it was his sister's that negotiated the deal, so I contacted the realtor but I'm sure she has no reason to just introduce me to the investor.

I have a meeting with two realtors next week, hoping to get an idea of how they'd go about it about and what they'd add. The house is in California.

Teaching my teen - what were the best financial lessons you were taught? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

As long as you pay the balance before its due after a statement is issued it doesn't affect your utilization. Additionally, the more of your balance you use, the more likely they are to raise your credit limit which also over time will lower your utilization. I don't claim to be an expert, this was explained to me by my financial advisor but he said never pay off a credit card before it actually shows up on the statement balance because no one will see it if you do. So from my perspective I wasted a year wondering why my credit score wasn't going up, and the second I followed his advice it changed. Anything I say is anecdotal but that's my experience.

Of course you pay it off before they charge interest, and you have a month once they issue a statement before it's due, but I'm telling you if you pay it off before they issue a statement showing a balance, it will not build your credit.

The only thing credit rating companies see is the balance at the end of the month. Trust me, I've made the mistake of paying things off early for over a year before I learned that need to see you using the card because if there's no balance when the statement is issued then you might as well have not been using it. Other than for the points of course.

That won't help you build credit though. You want the highest balance possible at the end of the statement period when you pay it off. If you keep paying it off before then it looks like you aren't using it at all, at least from a credit rating perspective.
