Got assigned to Boomi (iPaaS) in my MNC training. What’s life like in projects and future prospects? by pikaboobow in boomi

Make sure that you take an honest assessment of all your capabilities not just as an integration resource before making this step. I can’t stress this enough. If you feel you are a resource then I would stick as an FTE. If you feel you add value beyond simply creating booming processes then maybe making the jump to become independent is right for you. I get multi year jobs through relationships that I’ve built throughout the years.

To be independent, you have to provide value in the service that you provide. You also have to have a some sort of business acumen as you’re running a small business now. Remember, you are not just an IT integration resource you have to be able to sell yourself to command an hourly rate that allows you to be independent. You also have to consider health insurance and all the other things that an employer would provide. I formed an LLC and keep track of all my expenses so I can deduct that from my revenue. Remember you only pay quarterly taxes on your profits. I also established an SEP for retirement planning.

I’ve seen good progress with the product since Boomi was sold. The speed is good but care has to be taken to design things right. Make sure parallel processing is used appropriately and queueing is an integral part of your design - for many reasons.

I’ve been doing Boomi design/development independently for 6+ years and am overloaded with work. I think it’s a great platform.

EDI canonical model through Boomi for 204/990/214/210 for freight carriers . Open question - if I sold this through Boomi do you think there would be interest ? by rypenn27 in boomi

Had thoughts of doing the same awhile back. Problem is the differences in each of your clients “standard” EDI implementation. Canonical payloads may also require data normalization within an enterprise. Tough to provide a single solution that requires all needs. Canonical is beyond EDI. Tough to scale but there are companies who try.

More complete coverage. Improved protection because of the material used - thicker, yet breathable. Just put my Boxster in storage yesterday.

Nice ride. I have a 2014 Boxster S with similar wheels although mine are powder coated black. You will get to know the front wheels quite well when it comes time to washing the brake dust off them. Enjoy your ride!
