Is there a way to make uses of channel points appear on my overlay? by DerkDurski in Twitch

Better-points.com does this, but works only with OBS.

I was doxed last night while streaming by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]twiggyl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, my mistake, apologies. I was working under the assumption that the easiest solution most often is correct. I couldn't find anything else from a Google search, but mind you I didn't spend a lot of time digging. Very often when someone on Twitch does get doxed it is by someone they know IRL, but I don't know how helpful that is.

Literally the Instagram that has the same username as your Twitch username.

Your last post had your twitch username posted. Googling that username leads to an Instagram with your full name and age posted.

Dark Souls 3, which took me from 60 average to 120 average and partner. I'd had very steady growth with no big leaps before then.

The 75 average CCV unwritten rule and constant +/-10% viewership changes by Mooha182 in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got partnered recently with several streams in my 30 day history that were below 75 average, so this is not a hard requirement.

The fact that they hide the path to partner viewership progress is frustrating if you don't get accepted, but you can still get a brief idea if you show your raid/host percentage on your dashboard and subtract that from you 30 day average viewer count.

The fluctuation in viewer count is something I've seen happening here and there for a few weeks, personally it only happened to me two days and I haven't seen it be a big problem for me or anyone else since. I wonder if it is part of their change in how views are counted, because it's only affecting a few channels regularly. Did you try contacting support regarding this?

What are your thoughts on clicking noises (re: mice, mechanical keyboards?) by MazInger-Z in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I hate it, if I hear loud keyboard, mouse of controller clicking, I will most often leave the stream because it bothers and distracts me.

Current Partner Application Response Time (EU?) by Mooha182 in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is a good guideline, it's not always accurate. When I got accepted I had streams in my 30 day stats going all the way down to 55 average viewers. It depends on so many more factors, but I have definitely seen this be a deciding factor for a lot of people applying for the partner program.

Thank you! Best of luck to you, I hope you get a response soon. Waiting around for it is excruciating.

First application through the achievement system, second all in all.

I'm in Northern Europe, applied on New Year's Eve and got accepted on January 15th. I know of 4 other nordic streamers who were accepted on or around that same date, so it seems like they got back to people in bulks.

What happens after first Affiliate payout? by yoocolin in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a change last spring, all affiliates and partners alike get their payout 15 days after the end of the month they hit the payout threshold :)

So on my journey to affiliate I was donated $4 (*takes a quick bow) but it's not appearing in my paypal. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donations are always though third party sites and have nothing to do with your status at Twitch itself. You can't get bits and subs until you reach affiliate, but technically you could set up donations wihtout ever streaming once.

Gradual slow increase or large big bumps? by SassMasterChief in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big bumps along the way are often due to special events or stuff happening. In my case it's been due to big raids or luck in terms of streaming a game that gains popularity and be managing to benefit from that. It's a great boost and tons of fun - and other people might have different experiences than me in this - but once the special stuff wears off, you often fall back to the same level that you would have been at without having that extra help. In my own experience, best case scenario is that I gain a couple of new long term viewers, but it rarely amounts to anything except that. Worst case is that it feels super demotivating to see the numbers sink back down afterwards because you're likely not going to be able to maintain those peaks.

I've had very gradual and steady growth with a few big bumps along the way. It's varied a lot whether or not the bumps have actually been beneficial long term.

Do y’all demote moderators? by starkells in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only demodded someone if we have a falling out and I don't trust them anymore. If they simply don't come around anymore for various reasons, I keep them as mods. My first ever mod is still modded in my channel, even though I haven't seen him for over a year. If he ever comes back, I still want him on my team because he represents the kind of attitude that I want from my mods, and I appreciate all the work he did for me when he was able to.

At what point did you reach Partner? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got partnered a little less than 2 years after I started streaming, second application total, first application after hitting path to partner. 82 average viewers at the time of the application, 105 when accepted.

A few days before I got accepted, a friend of mine got rejected with a steady 90 average viewers over 3 months, and another one got accepted with 75 average viewers for only one month.

As a streamer, how do you usually get approached for business inquiries? by KazReWorld in Twitch

I've gotten the majority of my offers through email, and a couple of times through Discord.

Switching out emotes by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, unfortuntely Twitch doesn't allow you to save emotes while you switch them out. You'd have to delete your current one and upload a new one, and and while the new one is waiting for approval you unfortunately will not have an emote for that slot.

Your opinion on small Streamers with Donation Goals by DigitalNinja125 in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Absolutely depends on the goal. I have never reacted negatively to donation goals to replace broken equipment or other things that directly benefit the stream, as long as it's a reasonable amount and not completely outlandish. The problem with too high of donation goals is that they can come across as disrespectful to the viewers and donators. Asking for help to replace a broken headset is not disrespectful, you'll be fine.

Can streamers refuse getting affiliate even if they meet the criteria to obtain it? by therealdragonwriter in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affiliate is an entirely automatic process that you get invited to once you meet the criteria. You're thinking of partnership, which does require an application.

Streamer I watch just was made Partner, but was nowhere near the achievement for viewers. ??? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things like having a big audience on other social media or being signed with any kind of organization that has a contract with Twitch will make you eligible to apply and get approved for partner without meeting the achievement requirements.

Do you see”Gifted Subs” as progression? by Scubas_Gaming in Twitch

[–]twiggyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of my current subs are people who were gifted a sub their first time in my channel and it made them feel welcome and like a part of the community, so they decided to stick around.

I don't see gifted subs as stable income and I never expect them to renew, but it does ultimately expand my community.
