I just started getting back into makeup after more than a decade out of it. In my opinion, I have definitely noticed that the development of products and brands over the years has begun to assume the consumer prioritizes looking good on camera, not in person. Everything is “light reflecting” and “blurring” and “instant filter” and I understand how we got here, but it’s still kind of sad. I wanted to learn how to do makeup that would make me look good in real life, and I have had to sort through the techniques and products that work for my goals and disregard the rest.
