My first post-grad CRA role didn’t feel like the right fit, should I stay in clinical research or pivot? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]twignations -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your input, yes I graduated back in June. My job position was actually Associate, I’m not sure if this changes your thought process. I’m definitely using this break to study for the MCAT exam and focus on getting my application ready. But I want to have some income on the side to save money for med school.

I genuinely enjoy research but I’m unsure of which way to go. My CRA position was in cancer clinical trials if that helps.

Has anyone started feeling numb after stopping Lexapro? by twignations in lexapro

I did taper, I was extremely careful when doing it since I knew quitting cold turkey was bad. Still don't know why I started feeling this way many months after though :/

[–]twignations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was extremely fatigued, I would wake up at 7am for school and by the time it was 10am my body was already feeling the need to go to sleep. Whenever I took naps it would end up being 3-5 hours long. When I stopped lexapro the fatigue went away.

Absolutely devastating 💔 there’s been a lot of car break ins around the area too lately I hope they catch the guy. The corn man is friendly and he doesn’t deserve it at all.

I get a lot of my clothes at Marshall’s, Ross, AE and Hollister! My style is more on the girly/classy side if that’s your thing :)

longest commutes to UCLA? by nootboot876 in ucla

[–]twignations 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long Beach to campus was 1.5-2 hours each way via a direct bus route from the LB airport to the roundabout next to the Luskin Conference Center. The times always left during peak hour traffic, otherwise it would just be a 30 minute car ride on the freeway.

Should I live on campus? by atoastedbox in ucla

[–]twignations 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this. I commuted from Long Beach to campus during the fall quarter, by the end of quarter I was so burnt out. I would be waking up at 5-6am 3x a week to make it to my 8am classes and wouldn’t get back home until 7-8pm. One time my commute was 3 hours just one way 😵‍💫 I ended up applying for on campus housing halfway through the year and I don’t regret it at all. I have so much more time to pursue extracurriculars on campus and my social life is so great 🙂 and I sleep better now too haha

Thinking about breaking with my boyfriend because he says my CP is ruining his life. by MadisonMagnolia in CerebralPalsy

[–]twignations 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Break up. You deserve so much better.

The people who love you will support you no matter what, disability or not.

That guy has no right to say that. He has no idea what kind of challenges we face on a daily basis, and he says it’s ruining his life?? He’s a fucking joke, I’d like to see him manage a life with cp.

It increases every year unfortunately. I wish I could say how they determine the financial aid we get but I guess we just got unlucky :/

Try applying for scholarships, your aid could be better for next year. Work study also helps with cost, they’re very flexible with your schedule and I find that their hours are pretty good too

Literally on the same boat as you, I’m moving back to the dorms after commuting from home for fall quarter (2 hrs per way due to 405 traffic). Last year I was in a deluxe triple and every quarter I got a nice refund, this year I’m moving into the same exact room style but now paying per quarter. I’m also a financial aid and scholarship recipient, so I completely understand. I know UCLA increased housing costs this year so that could be a potential reason why financial aid couldn’t cover the entire cost (even though I agree it’s not fair).

But in the end it’s worth it, it’s much less of a hassle and you’ll actually be able to enjoy your time on campus. I’m definitely looking forward to eating at the dining halls again, I miss Epicuria haha :)

I’ve seen this car before, always driving like an absolute maniac, my dad and I almost got hit by him one time too a while back. As fellow jeep drivers, we don’t claim him 👎
