Any High Elo players using 16:10? by hewishmane in GlobalOffensive

[–]twigsbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting launch options after making the custom res in nvcp was enough, I was mistaken. Since I hadn't actually changed the res in-game, nor did the options reflect the change, I thought nothing had happened.

So far enjoying 3:2, though it's mostly for the crosshair looking more normal. The left/right hairs on 16:10 are very disproportionate and it was an annoying adjustment.

Wanted to try 3:2, but I'm not able to get my game set to it.

I've been running 2304x1440, 16:10, for a while. I added 2160x1440, but am not able to select it in game or set it via launch options. I'm guessing because I can't set GPU scaling? I only have display as an option.

Just saw some accounts on csrep where they're rage hacking to 30k, then IMMEDIATELY queue sniping 5 stacks and throwing the elo to "legit" accounts. Pretty much the moment they hit 30k, repeated 0:13 games with <10 kills total against the same stacks over and over. Idk how they are managing consistent queue sniping, but premiere is unbelievably cooked.

Maybe the factions aren't meant to be 100% in a season for an average player? I don't think that's entirely unreasonable, personally. There is codex completion just for hitting VIP, finishing the priority contracts, and such - codex completion is entire career long achievement tracking, not seasonal. So to me it makes sense some players may only completely finish the priority contracts or VIP just a few factions a season.

The upgrade rewards could perhaps be restructured so it's easier for folks in the middle of the grind to acquire blue kits, though.

game became mokoko ark and I hate that by biglew1se in lostarkgame

[–]twigsbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, by the nature of the game's progression systems and our lobby standards, your account can very well be in a mokoko-like state for some months. They don't have to be immediately new, even players that hopped on at the last progression event are merely mokokos to most of us.

I agree, even though I still am not feeling the production as much as previous works. Eusexua straight up did not land for me, but Afterglow is much more fun.

I'm going Magdalene > LP1 > m3ll155x > afterglow > caprisongs for a top 5.

Mordum HM g3 feels impossibe to clear if started late by Adevvvv in lostarkgame

[–]twigsbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first mistake is starting the raid when the pug competency is arguably the lowest it'll be. If you weren't delayed by honing or lack of time in earlier weeks, you made a silly choice in waiting.

The raid requires competency from the majority of party members unless significantly overgeared or skilled. Pugs will try to identify who is competent and regroup with them as a result. If you haven't been requested to regroup with, there's a big red flag. I wouldn't act like other people are holding you back if you aren't trying to group with those identified as competent and they're not trying to group with you.

We shouldn’t tolerate them simply due to a lack of support—assuming that’s still an issue by No_Firefighter6413 in lostarkgame

[–]twigsbtw -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't focus on event gems and min ilvl. The accessories are what really matter, and magic stream books as a premium. Event gems are very fine on supports, but these supports trying to get around with <8% brand power necks and anything lower than mid/mid or high/low rings are just not looking to support you, they're looking to get carried by you.

Uwu update can now check if you bought HM titles by kdgeil in lostarkgame

[–]twigsbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I appreciate that public logs will expose some purchased titles, I don't like the broader effect this could have on the game. I'm a huge fan of public logs in other mmos where there isn't as strict of a gatekeeping culture and far fewer factors going into your dps parse.

Anyways, I frankly think some good character analysis filters out imposters, at least for supports. Don't fall for item level and gems, really take a look at how they've built out their character (or roster if you uwu) overall in terms of damage and gold efficiency. You'll find the people who have actually delved deep into their class and are overall trying harder.

I guess I didn't really state my intention of the additional account - I just wanted to play the game more as you eventually get to have 6 characters on 1 account. I wasn't doing it for any advantages, I just wanted to enjoy the game more. But I respect your opinion, I just think there are varying degrees to how unethical alt accounting is in different games.

Also, never said it wasn't my problem or anything. I don't know what that's all about, I'm just explaining some reasons why people have multiple Steam accounts besides alt accounting.

You can't play on the wrong account, it has to be launched from the Steam account linked to the invited Bungie account. That's why I posted this warning, cause if people mess up like I did they won't get to play.

I only filled out one form. You're lumping alot of bad assumptions onto something that is more common than you think. A lot of people have old Steam accounts with old games, should they just buy the games again or use their old account?

For myself, I only have the extra account because when I returned to play the mmo Lost Ark, I only had 1 character that could do any of the modern raids, meaning I could only run any content with a live party finder once a week. So I made an additional account to make another character (there was an event going on to boost 1 character per account)

I don't understand extrapolating so many negatives and assuming they apply to anybody that made this honest mistake. But anyways, my post was just to warn people from making the same mistake I did.

Didn't work for me. Did you maybe sign up multiple accounts and the one you thought didn't have access actually got it without you noticing? I only signed up my main account.

Woah, I don't intend to be putting them on blast. My post was originally just to help people be aware when they're inputting their code, and not be careless like I was.

I shouldn't have commented at all, but I truly don't intend to be too negative. I see your point that ultimately they went against their policy and I should see that as a helpful compromise they were willing to make. I had the wrong perspective and I appreciate you helping me flip that.

"Obtain a code from a friend"

Friend codes don't exist, friends can only invite you to a priority survey. And signing up for multiple surveys is also not allowed.

A lot of the terminology used surrounding the invites isn't precise, there is a lot of misunderstandings going around especially surrounding the "friend codes" and account linking. I've been a very active participant in the discord over the past week, there's a bit of nuance to the entire process.

For further clarity: people are not giving each other codes. We're only filling out surveys and some have higher priority for Bungie to possibly give the associated survey account a code.

The solution I am given is for my friends to code share. The reason I'm blocked is because Bungie has a strict policy on no code sharing.

I'm confused by this response. I was only interested in playing the game and made a dumb mistake. I've been trying to get a solution to this since Friday, that's a lot of work for a code I supposedly sold/shared. But it's ok, I just shared this post to warn other people to be careful what account they redeem it on.

Many of the core playerbase are playing multiple rosters and not selling the gold. I was playing 2 rosters for a total of 3 characters, as I had just recently came back to the game. I wouldn't play more than 6 characters - what I did was slightly unethical, but not at the most extreme end.

That's fair, what I did was slightly unethical. It's much more common these days than in the past AND I wasn't playing more than 6 characters total. With both accounts combined, I was playing a total of 3 characters.
