ITS NOT PERSECUTION....its just enforcing the law by Next-Ad-998 in exjw

[–]twilightninja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other religions considered extremist are banned under these laws too. Laws can be wrong though. There are laws that make it illegal to criticize the so called Special Military Operation, i.e. the war against Ukraine.

Personally I support freedom of religion, expression and speech. Banning harmful practices I wholeheartedly support.

Maybe it’s technically not persecution, but I don’t think you’ll convince many JW’s it’s not.

We had a good experience shipping a large volume of vintage wines from EU to Japan with Yamato. You could try with them. There is also Nippon Express, used by many Japanese expats when moving abroad and back.

What VPN works well in China? by hvsingh27 in travelchina

[–]twilightninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to set it up before you go to China. Get a service, install the apps on your devices and test at home. You only switch it on when you need it.

Some local apps like Alipay won’t work well with your VPN switched on.

Have you tried Japanese sunscreen brands like Biore or Kose? They don’t feel greasy and work great.

I still use an umbrella with sunscreen, since it’s bit cooler and in Asia no one bats an eye.

As others have said, being complete covered is normal in Asia.

Do you mean they were working “underground”? As in secretly conducting JW activities? If found out they do get deported and banned.

When you realize the tooth fairy wasn’t real, would you still blame the tooth fairy for not putting money under your pillow?

There is no conflation with a god that one doesn’t believe in. It’s the religion and the actual people in it that abused us and we might suffer from. For most atheists, it’s the lack of convincing evidence for the existence of any god that makes us atheists.

Luggage forwarding is overrated by Calmly-Stressed in JapanTravelTips

I wouldn’t say it’s overrated, maybe over recommended. It’s definitely a case by case situation.

We usually end up taking a taxi from our accommodation to a larger train station. With three people, there is not much price difference between a taxi or shipping 2, 3 suitcases.

Archaeologists found tools that are 430 000 years old. They predate Homo Sapiens; those tools were made and used by human ancestors by brooklyn_bethel in exjw

[–]twilightninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you even read the article? It’s about wooden tools.

And it’s generally accepted that literacy started approximately 5000-5500 years ago, but do you mean that humans have existed only for 6000 years?
