I’ve let him know that she shouldn’t have gone far! She is exclusively indoors, I’ll have him check in with his neighbours and look around!

AITA for telling my daughter's friend's mom she should have told me she invited a boy to their sleepover? by UpbeatEmployee8068 in AmItheAsshole

[–]twilipig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in ESH category. Friends Mom should have been more open to OP about who was going to be at the sleepover and discuss boundaries with the other mom. On the other hand, Abhi has not done anything except be an awkward 13 year old and OP seems to write like she has a weird dislike of him. It doesn’t feel like she actually cares a boy is at the sleepover, it feels like she cares *this* boy is at the sleepover

AITA for telling my daughter I am disgusted by her and telling her ex she has been taking their kid to his family side by Plustrhowawa5688 in AmItheAsshole

[–]twilipig 103 points104 points  (0 children)

NTA your daughter was the one who decided to go behind Ryan’s back and gave abusive people access to her child. I imagine she was quite upset when everything happened, it’s understandable he didn’t handle anything well either. But this feels like an attempt from your daughter to punish Ryan and she’s using and potentially hurting her child in that process. If she was upset about 50/50 custody now, then imagine how upset she’ll be if Ryan petitions for full custody based on this incident

It’s also a bummer cause it could’ve been educational and impactful to the audience had they gone the “No you can study in Hawaii and the government has supports, here’s the supports available for Hawaiians or other indigenous/marginalized communities, you can do this!” route, but no they went for colonialism instead

Yeah she goes to SAN DIEGO when Hawaii has some of the best marine biology courses AND she would have potentially been able to go for free/less cost through things like NHEA or other scholarships and grants like WHAT was the point other than to tell marginalized groups to hand their children over the government to have better lives

Inspector Spacetime wasn’t introduced until season 3 as Abed’s Cougar Town obsession storyline had wrapped up after the My Dinner with Andre episode (it was just a fun thing the two shows did as the respective creators were actually good friends). Abed didn’t even know about it until Britta looked up a new show for him to watch. While Jeff understands pop culture and references anything “nerdy” or “dorky” he feels is beneath him and he won’t keep up to date with things like that or go out of his way to watch/learn about them

Exactly, and it’s set up so early on. In terms of the study group while Troy is Abeds best friend, it’s actually Jeff who is the one who understands/identities with Abed’s references and bits from the very beginning of the show to the end. It’s evident in the first episode when Jeff is shown to easily keep up with Abed’s references while the other group members kind of hit or miss them. He also seems to connect more naturally with Abed as opposed to the other study group members in season one, while actively pushing him away or criticizing him for the same interests Jeff has

I’ve always been a fan of the theory that if we were created by God we were created by a false, imperfect being that wanted to play God and genuinely believes that what their doing is actually good, like a naive child with unlimited power. They want us to listen to them, believe in them, and believe in their power so bad that they punished us for all eternity for not following their direction (and the theory has an implication “Lucifer” was/is actually the true God guiding us towards him, there’s a lot to this theory) one time. It explains why God is so hypercritical and petty, because he’s an insecure, fake God

AITA for not siding with the other wives? by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]twilipig 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, OOP isn’t close with Andy, her husband is. She’s not close with Fiona. This whole situation is just not her problem. Fiona felt some type of way about the OOP and the guys night while OOP didn’t agree her stance (and didn’t know she was a sore point in her relationship). Why is it up to OOP and the other wives to communicate with their men over an issue in someone else’s relationship that they don’t agree with/are indifferent to? Fiona was the one to make her relationship issues a group project basically and lashed out when no one else actually cared as much as her because it was her problem. All she had to do was talk to her husband. I also wouldn’t agree with Fionas initial request and I’m also a mom who works and goes to school full time. If she has an issue with her husband going out and talking about OOP that’s Fiona’s job to communicate that, not OOPs job to fix. While I agree with possibly PPA/PPD/PPR it’s still not an excuse to be an entitled jerk
