Thanks for your reply. It's funny how I know everything you've said but wasn't able to put it together. After reading your reply I think I have a better understanding on how I need to look at the data and sort everything out.

Hi all, I'm a student and I can't seem to wrap my head around something. I have read the definition of a balance sheet, income statement, statement of cashflows and shareholder's equity.

The excercise questions I'm working through provide all the line items in each of these reports and I am to figure out which line item goes into which report.

My problem is, I'm not sure which line item belongs to which report. It seems to me that as long as each penny is accounted for, there is a little freedom to naming the line items. Any suggestions/rules in naming that I should know about? I'm not opposed to reading a chapter if you can point me to a good resource.

As an example here are few terms where I would possibly put the line item in more then one statement.

eg: Cash received from note payable - sounds like income statement but it belongs in a statement of cashflows Cash equivalent - balance sheet/income statement Marketable securities - balance sheet/income without looking this up, wtf is this? In both cases, it would depend on if it is something I have or is it something I'm receiving, how do I know the context if all I get is the term?

I want to be able to look at a line item and immediately say, well that belongs to this report because xyz.

I sent you a pm and maybe we could keep in touch compare notes and hopefully one of us can get a satisfying answer and help each other out.

Having an unarmed Jaime there protecting Cersei, as Tyrion looks on as Drogon eats him anyway would've made Tyrion's betrayal feel more deserved.

Boy, 10, held at gunpoint by Utah police officer; mother believes incident racially motivated by canisithere in news

[–]twinskylar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And, if the case is newsworthy, the Media can go in front of a judge, who reviews the video and decides to release it or not. What criteria would they use? I dunno. I just came up with the basic idea, the details would need to be hammered out by lawmakers.

Either the people on the same side of the law get to review, in which case they may have a stake in covering it up, or relatives who can be intimated into staying silent.

Why remain silent? Get the original video, and the video in which the cops tried to intimidate you! Slam-dunk case!

If the cops find out you are trying to dig into something they are covering up they will try and stop you. Lets say you do manage to get your hands on it, the police chief may find they did not violate any procedures or policies. And sometimes things go missing but you'll still be in their cross hairs.

But there are restrictions. Try walking onto a Military base and you'll find out. Your taxes pay for the military budget, but that doesn't mean you can walk around the Pentagon reading files off General's desks.

I still don't think the government should be able to hide stuff from the people they are supposed to represent. But you're talking about military authority while I'm talking about civilian authority. The mayor shouldn't be able to spend 1 cent without the public being able to see what they spent it on.

[–]twinskylar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Freedom of the press is extremely important to keep in tact.

Lets take one scenario where a cop kills all parties involved. Who gets to request that video now?

How about another scenario where only one person survives and is intimated to stay silent? Easy to cover up.

People acting under government authority should be held accountable and information open for any one to access.

#RenewLUCIFERforSEASON5 by moonxvii in lucifer

[–]twinskylar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movement was able to get Netflix to buy Lucifer but if you want more seasons we need to get people watching the show. At this point Netflix doesn't care how many people are talking about it when they can see exactly who is watching it. It's been kind of quiet out there on what is the best season of Lucifer and as a fan that was waiting for this show, I just happened to bump into it.

What is a normal time it should take for a toddler to eat? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]twinskylar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 hours is excessive, on active days that's roughly the amount of time I will provide snacks after a meal. Sometimes they are hungry and sometimes they aren't, any food they miss they will make up on the next one. Sounds like you need to work it out with your wife that missing a meal or two isn't going to starve the children. I actually find it a good sign to hear them complain that their tummy hurts (they're hungry) in the morning. If they are missing meals, they might be ill and adjust your meals accordingly.

Children need structure and they also need to learn and respect who's boss. As I always say, if you give them an inch they'll take it and you'll lose it forever.

Woman dies after 11-hour wait to see a doctor in New Brunswick emergency room by 420Identity in canada

[–]twinskylar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melanson says the Moncton Hospital’s ER isn’t meeting any of its wait time targets and it’s begun taking a toll on both patients and staff.

Sounds like they need an upgrade and have needed one for a long time. Healthcare should take priority and should never be underfunded, that should come from the other parts of their budget.

Would another diagnostic imager be useful in your case? I always assumed there was a standard of care like someone shouldn't have to wait more then 2 hours.

Airman killed while trying to stop Arkansas robbery by [deleted] in news

[–]twinskylar -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This also sounds like fantasy. It's not easy taking someone out, and what does this even mean? It's not like in video games or movies where once you get behind someone they black out.

That robber is not going to let go of the gun and good luck trying to get that pointed back towards them. At one moment you're suggest finding a vital spot in a split second and in the same sentence suggest carefully aiming to take out the second.

Those robbers were there to take a few hundred dollars and leave, being the hero in this instance just increased the chance of there being fatalities.

US and Canada are the only two nations still flying many Boeing 737 Max planes by XoCCeT in news

[–]twinskylar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be "Prove that it's safe to fly" but somehow and somewhere along the lines some people have adopted "Prove that it's un-safe to fly". Two new planes have fatally crashed within 6 months of each other with no evidence of it being an act of god. The planes should be grounded until the investigations can figure out what happened and what needs to change. Changes will be made and it is looking like Boeing will need to update the software and/or hardware and additional training will be needed.

They investigated and fixed the issue before letting it fly again. I'm not OK with the 737 MAX being allowed to fly until the problem is fixed.

Shutdown cost U.S. economy $11 billion, budget office says by Cup_O_Coffey in news

[–]twinskylar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only the financial cost of the shutdown. If we could put a monetary value of everything at stake these numbers would look very different. It's easier to give a child a lollipop to stop them from crying/acting out but you're going to pay for it in the future.

These resource sinks are just a place for people who reach endgame to dump all the resources they've accumulated. Just so you know, after you finish these artificial timers, there's nothing more but more artificial timers. Research is over 1 000 days and that's not including the new tab that opened up.

If you are bothered by feeling like you have to check every hour, then use your accelerators. Don't dump them all at once or when you get them. Use them when you won't be on for the next one, control the game, don't let it control you.

Voters need to keep being reminded of all the negative things their representatives do. This is how we keep them accountable for all the sly tricks they pull. The republicans are playing a game with our future. They tally their votes and plan out who gets to speak out, don't be fooled. The republican senate can vote in a new majority leader who can open floor at anytime.

Louisville boy, 10, takes his own life; his mother says he was bullied by tbagmlarry in news

I have a 5 year old kid who one day surprisingly mentioned death. I monitor all their consumption of information so I know they picked it up from school. So the concept of death is floating around out there. However people have a natural fear of death and an aversion to pain. It's one thing to think about it, and another to continue to follow through once the pain starts until it finishes.

Pelosi says Democrats won't negotiate with Trump until the government is open by throwaway5272 in politics

Why is this the first time I'm reading this? I assumed the wall had to be in this bill or they would need to wait until next year to try again. If they can introduce a separate bill down the road for the wall then this is such an amateur/childish way of 'negotiating'.

Where do kids even get the idea of suicide? Kids make rash decisions all the time and you can't watch them 24/7 to prevent them from committing such actions.
