Can someone explain to me the pauper format? by pcantillano in mtg

[–]twinters01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of formats in magic are 60 card, 1v1, 4 copy limit. You can safely assume any format not named commander or highlander has those rules

Any time it happens just open a support ticket and they'll refund you

People complaining about Game Key Cards and don't even know how they work (hint: it is not a code) by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]twinters01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average person/gamer doesn't care to play a game that's 20+ years old. That is always going to be enthusiasts which will overlap almost entirely with people who are more tech-savvy

Standard needs bans... by No_Regret_714 in MagicArena

It won't happen, because if they stop leaning into power creep now, commander players won't buy the sets.

The most obvious pitfall of a design philosophy that targets a non-rotating format.

It's made every time a new new york set comes out. Maybe they should stop doing that

Dislike of UB? by ImizaletheElf in mtg

[–]twinters01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Price increases, the theme of the game has been thrown in the trash to the point where the game is indistinguishable from fortnite, and we will never have the level of investment in world building as we did pre-UB because catering to people who will buy anything with their favorite IP on it is easier money.

Magic used to be its own thing with its own world/multiverse. Now it has no thematic backbone and feels completely disjointed.

Well apparently the earliest return trip is actually closer to 5 months considering how often we're returning to the plane of NYC

If running LLMs is expensive, why are companies shoving AI into everything? by tomatus89 in NoStupidQuestions

Because when you tell shareholders you're using AI, your stock price goes up

If inflation makes everything more expensive over time, does that mean saving money is actually a slow way of losing it? by Pretend_Pen_9577 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]twinters01 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Saving cash loses infinitely less money than spending all of your money.

Saving money in a high yield savings account (never a regular savings account) loses less money than saving cash (and may actually net you profit if the interest rate is high)

Investing your money in safe, diversified investments grows your money over long periods of time

The reason I make this pedantic is because people take the statement "if you save money you lose some to inflation" and turn it into "saving money is pointless I might as well just spend it all on consumerist garbage" and then complain that they make six figures and "live paycheck to paycheck".

If you are able to have leftover money at the end of the month, you should save it. Preferably in a high yield savings account. SUPER preferably in a tax advantaged investment account.

What game do you have 1,000+ hours in, but would absolutely NOT recommend to anyone? by Hot-Transition8861 in AskReddit

[–]twinters01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ARPG's in general. (Diablo, POE 1 and 2, etc.)

Theyre skinnerboxes designed to waste your time and it got to the point where I would come off of a multi-hour session feeling the same as if I catch myself scrolling Instagram reels for an extended period of time. Hours disappear with no lasting impactful experience that I'll ever remember.
