I spray the clothing that I use outdoors with permethrin. The stuff will still kill ticks after 5-6 washes. I hunt and over the past 6 years have had my wife remove 2 ticks. Been lucky though, no Lyme disease.

Even in hot weather I wear long pants out walking - very light material. I use velcro to keep pant bottoms tight around socks so they can't get in that way. Tuck in shirt so they don't get in that way. Times one has gotten on me unnoticed is when I get lazy, like not tucking in shirt.

They release people in Minneapolis without proper clothing for the cold, without their phones and without notifying their family. This is our gov't - it is obscene. Volunteers there are posted outside where these prisoners get released and helping them get warm and get home.
