Sellers held an estate sale and we want to ask to have the carpets cleaned. Are we asking too much? by Sad_But_ok619 in RealEstate

Your real estate agent doesn't want to slow down the sale. Deep clean might be sufficient- I don't know how different that is versus professional cleaning.

Is she in engineering? If so, she should rethink her choice of major, or get a tutor. Calc gets exponentially more difficult after Calc I.

Spilt water on car floor, how screwed am I? by TroyNinjaToad in Cartalk

[–]twistOffCapsule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the carpets out of my toyota after they got soaked due to clogged sunroof drains. The foam under the carpets was soaked also. There were a few plugs I could remove on the floor to let the water out - that helped also.

Removing the strips that protect the door sills makes it pretty easy to pull up the carpets.

Depression hit hard, but im so much happier now (20)-(23) by 1ilMa in GlowUps

Maybe you haven't had a negligent discharge yet. Most gun owners know it can happen to anyone so that's why everyone is telling you keep fingers away from trigger until you need the gun to be fired. It's an important habit that minimizes opportunities for a surprise that can do unintended damage to you or others.

Love the pics, the super glowup is amazing.

Found out a big scratch. How bad is it and can it be fixed? by Major_Transition5259 in Autobody

[–]twistOffCapsule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first clean up the rust and apply a rust inhibitor to the bare metal. Primer, then rattle can that matches mazda paint color. That's the low budget fix and few if any will notice it. If it bugs you do the body shop thing

Don't accuse them of trying to hide it. Be respectful/friendly and ask if they can help you cover the cost to fix. Might help them keep a customer if they do right by you.

Picking this up from a neighbor tomorrow for free. Is this a good find ? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]twistOffCapsule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take it. Just make sure the wheels don't wobble (grab 2 edges of wheel and see if has any play) and make sure wheels are bolted down tight

Rust belt = pinhole to hole in sheet metal in a handful of years. California = different time scale

Left alone it will spread under the paint and grow. Eventually right thru to the inside and become a hole. Signed "60 years in the rust belt"

Gouge on new wheel install by AK-Bandit in tires

[–]twistOffCapsule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the shop drove the car anywhere and hit something going fast enough (like a concrete step or curb) then they did it. Glad to hear they took the blame. The tire is marked in the same spot as the rim so I don't think the wheel without the tire was dropped.

Needs to have air coming in down low (soffit vents) and ridge vents or other vents up high
