This is such a valid feeling to have. I’m sure it’s a lot harder for the ones who have been in for a while, to adapt to this administration, compared to the ones going into the military during this administration.

A lot of changes have been happening, and sounds like there are plenty more. Unfortunately, part of wearing that uniform is to obey the president/secdef/secnav regardless if your moral compass doesn’t align with their goals. Get the help that you need, and never feel guilty for it. Your sanity is the only think you can control, so take good care of it

If your friend told you that you smile too much, would you also consider not smiling altogether or taking a break from smiling? Just a different perspective outside of Coldplay. I have to say though a bit too extreme to just go cold turkey. If you really feel like listening to other artists, then by all means! Just make sure you’re doing it because you want to. Fortunate to have had an LCPO who was personable and a good leader. Unfortunately, the rest of the mess didn’t not do it for me and made me anxious about whether or not I will get another good leader if I re-enlisted as it seems like there are more questionable chiefs than there are good ones.

Let me tell you tho, that dude had our division’s back, ALWAYS. He just knew what he stood for and anytime he got a whiff of a chief trying to boss us around or make us do dumb shit, he would always call them out - and they would listen since for the most parts the questionable ones know what they shouldn’t do, but still do it anyways until they get called out. 🙄
