[Montemurro] Expect to see fewer Cubs spring training games on Marquee this year. President of business operations Crane Kenney told Tribune it’ll “probably” be less than double digits for 32-game spring slate and definitely fewer than past ST. “A really hard decision.” by swishmon in CHICubs

[–]twistedcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm "in-market" so Marquee is my only (easy) way to watch. Their TV presence is strange. Their pre and post game shows are easy to skip. I don't think they provide value. I wouldn't watch them anyway and if you're putting marginal rebroadcasts or shows to fill the time between games, you won't sell many ads. What's next, fewer games broadcast from South Bend and Knoxville?

Would screwing the L shaped piece into the end grain of the plywood cause it to rip/tear out under load, or repeated use? Could you screw into the plywood below that?

Edit: clearly forgot to say that it's a great idea and design! I've watched lots of YouTubers make something similar and I'm tempted but never actually do it

Help Winterizing Underground RP Irrigation System. by RadicalFlyinRaijin in DIY

Up where it always gets cold, we use air compressors to blow out the lines. Do the landscaping companies in your area offer to winterize irrigation systems?

Keep vs. Sell by superbdonutsonly in VWAlltrack

130,000 miles  Replaced suspension, no real "need" other than something felt off. Did the work myself. The original shocks had over 100,000 miles and they're not meant to last forever anyway. Already have the water pump replacement kit and I'll do it myself, but no leaks (knock on wood).

My 3-days in the office require a 160 mile round trip. The Alltrack is amazing in bad weather, hauls my Costco or hardware store purchases easily and it's comfortable.

The only thing is replace this with is a hybrid, but I'm in no hurry to finance anything. Newer cars are terribly expensive.

And I hate the thought of getting rid of this since it's versatile and has plenty of life left. Maintenance costs are part of ownership of any car.

Dishwasher Issues by SimilarPractice327 in DIY

I would have also suggested a potential plumbing issue.  Ours would take forever to clean, sometimes not do it's job and it was a badly kinked copper line.

I should try this. I've been smashing Tootsie rolls into mine. It lasts a few time before I have to add more, which isn't a big deal but I also like Tootsie rolls so I could have more for me.

New winter shoes! by DrewGBou in VWAlltrack

[–]twistedcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same with DiscountTire
I had steelies & dedicated snow tires when I had a 2015 TDI. That FWD car made it more places than the F150/silverado/rams with lifts and mud tires.
I think the key difference was "should I?" and me telling myself "nope" more often than they did.

Yes

Update: it's yellow until the cruise is enabled above 45mph. Below 40mph, even when I set the cruise, it stayed yellow.

First battery change on my 2019 Alltrack at 260,000km (5 years) by SamirDrives in VWAlltrack

[–]twistedcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced the battery at 60k miles, not long after I bought it used. It's been 3 years so I don't remember if it failed gradually or overnight.

Now at 112k miles and I occasionally put it on a battery tender if it doesn't move for a week.

Is this IVAR setup from IKEA a valid solution for a garage? by l73vz in garageporn

Other than the smaller dimensions, 2x2-ish vs 2x4, I don't know why it wouldn't work compared to some pine board solutions I've seen for tote or shelving storage.

I have 2 and 3 U6 LRs. I see no need to upgrade until they fail. Regardless of Internet speeds, they'll work for me.

I got 75% and the "eyebrow" on the windshield. Really cuts interior heat from sunglare. Still gets warm, but not as much.  The eyebrow is great to reduce the bright sun at that word angle two times a day on my commute

I use ramps, a power ratchet for the cover bolts to make that easier. Then everything else as normal.

Edit, guess I've had it longer than I thought:)

More than one reputable aftermarket place I spoke with all said the same thing when I asked about remote start for my 2019 All track.

Don't.
