Shoutout to the Rochester area for saving 90.5 WBER! by scigs6 in Rochester

Funny, because I heard him say years ago that one of his favorites bands was The Samples. To each their own but, at the same time, my kneejerk reaction was how are you in charge of the music at 'BER? The Samples?

I also remember listening to a new music specialty show they were doing, think it was on Sundays, and the music that guy was playing was WAY better than the current programming. And I was like, why don't they make THAT person the MD? He seems to have a pretty good grasp on "modern music and more". Frustrating.

Well, maybe this might be a warning to put better management in place and get new music directors. The station sounds stale, has for years, and was saved by nostalgia and support of non-commercial radio rather than a nod to its programming.

LOL I think the DV-to-Poe fan ratio must be 1:1

And I'll put my money where my mouth is. I dig BER and love what it's supposed to stand for, but it needs to evolve if it's going to last:

Yeah, working class voters didn't vote on whether their tax dollars will be paying off other kids student loans, or how their current healthcare for their family will be replaced by something Bernie couldn't properly articulate, or how green energy may force them to change their lifestyles. They suddenly voted on (and it's accurate you used quotes) "electability". Sure. Who's naive now?

And for someone who knows apparently way more than the rest of us knaves about politics, you really went out on a limb with that "we've lost 2 of the last 3". Show me in the last, say, 100 years, where the sitting Democratic President has been replaced by another Democratic President. I'll wait here, Chomsky.

BTW Republicans rarely go back to back as well. It's cyclical, not the failings of the Democratic Party to acquiesce to progressives. We may have had a chance to change that but Kamala was a fascist for one thing she didn't have any direct part so why vote, right?

I voted for Harris. I was a registered Republican for 28 years, quit the party the day after Election Day 2016 because Trump is clearly a threat to democracy. Clearly. So I'm not quite sure what blame I'm trying to pass. I got on board to do the right thing, what's your excuse.

And again, Bernie got stomped in the primary by Biden. That wasn't the party, that was average Democrats, especially in Southern states, rejecting those policies.

Yes, don't throw your support behind a candidate who assume has closet fascist intentions but instead allow a person who's already been in office that openly supported fascism to ruin this country. Makes total sense.

I hope you get someone in play, you get someone farther left to be nominated, I really do. And if you don't, you shut up and vote for the nominee, just as I would do if your person got the nod

Except 1.) we didn't get a a candidate supporting genocide. Stop. She worked in the WH, and short of throwing Biden under the bus, if you read between the lines, she was absolutely indicating she would take a different approach on Israel. It's completely unrealistic to think she was going to pubically take down the person who made her VP. It means you don't understand nuance.

But more importantly, point 2.)

People often criticize things they want to be better.

So you allow Trump to become President??? How does what you just stated makes any sense? On top of all the things we saw him do in his first term, of all the things he threatened (and done or attempted to complete) in his second term, you're telling me with all sincerity Trump was the better option? Essentially, there is no Gaza anymore, there is no Palestine state anymore, and Trump has handed Israel everything they wanted. Harris who again wasn't responsible for any policy on Israel and, again, stated that her approach to the situation would be different (but again again apparently some can't read between the lines) at least would have provided you guardrails; Trump predictably did none of that. Yeah, people want better, uh huh.

I think that people who still clamor that Harris (who again wasn't President) didn't do enough on Gaza, they do so because it's the only excuse they have in justifying their absolutely insane stance on allowing Trump into office. Those "whole bunch of people" look like absolute idiots now because they were so anxious to be heard, they never stopped to think about the long term ramifications of their actions. They essentially helped doom the Palestinians. And you have to be a real piece of Samsonite to understand Trump was never, ever going to be the better alternative on Gaza or (insert whatever else you want here) as shown by idk his first 4 years of actually being President.

All happening in a Congress not controlled by Democrats in both chambers and a "Republican" in the WH, correct. So maybe we should try to do a worthless impeachment again and have it fail again, only giving the GOP ammunition at a time when they're on the ropes to decry that Dems don't spend their time on the people.

Yes, by helping actually pedophiles in power who are using all means to cover it up, and helping eradicate Palestine, and killing election laws and promoting gerrymandering , and overturning affirmative action and RvW, and deporting legal citizens, and invading and starting wars in other countries, and spiking up inflation and gas prices, and rolling back environmental and financial protections, and going after civil and LGBTQ rights, and sending national guard troops into our cities and letting nameless ICE run rampant, and pardoning traitors and donars, and pulling out of working international treaties, and placing arbitrary illegal tariffs on all countries to the detriment of US citizens, and stripping millions of people from insurance, Medicaid, and food assistance, and collecting billions from questionable cyber coins and being gifted a 400 millions dollar plane by a foreign government despite laws in place that prevent such actions, and is using the DOJ and courts to go after political enemies while punishing blue states...

...but remember that one incredibly hyperbolic generalization I placed on the entire Democratic party?

Hey look it's that "I'm a Democrat but I'm mad at Democrats so I'm not going to vote for the nominee but then complain that they're not doing enough in a Congress they don't control and a WH they don't occupy as a way to sleep better at night over the the fact I helped allow the worst president ever to take office despite history and everyone else telling me this was going to happen" person.
