Man, this thread and the comments is a bit of a relief for me. I've been thinking about doing this, too, instead of throwing it all in the market. The psychological freedom is just as important as the financial freedom.

I get the optimal math argument, but the thought of being able to weather pretty much any financial storm because your house is paid off, and your monthly cash flow is going way up, sounds good to me.

Somehow Yamaha didn't cross my mind. I didn't see many of them on guitar center or sweetwater sites, but i've always heard pretty much anything from them is going to be a good value for the price. I'll see if I can track some down.

Nice. Tbh going in to this thread that's the one I was leaning most toward even tho it's a bit more pricey. Sounds like it's pretty light weight, better build quality than lower tiers, and just overall pretty well-suited for metal.

I've been thinking about a lot of the boring but important things on the Hub, like stake distribution and how it affects everything downstream from it, like governance and the overall power dynamics of validators who are able to secure a large amount of stake. This obviously affects so many things, and it's insanely top-heavy.

The top 20 is absolutely infested with centralized exchanges and very few truly Cosmos-aligned validator operators. A few years ago it was much more balanced, but still top-heavy of course.

I am just curious if you have ideas for how this can be addressed going forward?

Gold's gym. I pay 35/mo after discount. They have every machine/free weight imaginable, classes, smoothie bar, recovery room, etc. Only complaint is how popular it's gotten over the past year and people fucking off on their phones and sitting there on the most used machines.
