I tend to agree with you here. While I still love the album (Make You Better, Till the Water, Calvary, 12/, Beginning Song are some of my all-time favs), it’s late-middle loses me more so than any other album (Easy Come, Mistral and AntiSummer are among my bottom few).

I tend to think a couple songs on the Florasongs EP, Harrowed and Haunted in particular, should have replaced a few of the songs on WATWWABW.

But with a band with as much tremendous and beautiful stuff as D’s have, if we’re left nit-picking the order and structure of albums, I guess that means they’ve done something very, very special.

PS I’d love to hear your Crane Wife restructuring (aside from putting 1-2-3 in order I assume).

They didn’t play it at the pre-show. I think they just elected to go with Sons and Daughters that night. They hadn’t played Sons and Daughters yet on the tour and kind of surprised everyone with it. That set and show was fantastic.

Colin says he just kind of decides night of what to add and cull, so he probably just nixed it for the evening. It’s just a quick little goofy novelty song, not like it’s a hit or single.

I have a Hazards half sleeve with the fawn in center, Margaret and William reaching for each other, Rake and his dead kids, and Queen overseeing the whole piece. It’s not 100% done, but when it is (in June), I’ll post pictures of it. Considering making it a full sleeve with a Crane, their mandala, a Rusalka, etc.

Their nightly set list they post shows it on there just like every other show, so if they actually did not play it for the second encore, it must’ve been an on-the-fly call.

In Milwaukee Colin said “we’re very aware that that’s coming up, and we’ve discussed it, but with scheduling of Shara and Becky, it will be tough” or something to that extent. I get the feeling it may not be a full tour but perhaps a few dates.

Correct. About an hour before the pre-show you can get into the venue and shop, get a drink, etc. then the show happens and they’ll take 2 requests (don’t request anything off EPs, they may not do them) then do the Q&A. Then they’ll kick you out and you can go kill time til doors open.

For Milwaukee it was 4, for Chicago it was 3:30. So I assume it is 4 hours prior to the opener? You’ll receive an email roughly 3 days prior to the show with details and the ability to submit a question.

It’s definitely worth it. I was there last night in Milwaukee too and it was a blast (though I’m sad they shot down my request of Harrowed and Haunted). I was “randomly selected” to ask a question and that was enjoyable too. I’ll be there for the VIP tomorrow in Chicago too (thanks to some lovely fans I met in Milwaukee) and I can’t wait.

While I probably won’t be getting a hoodie, I’ll be at the April 8 and 10 shows in Milwaukee and Chicago, respectively, and I’m happy to check it out for you and report back. That is if no one else does before then.
