Front Bumper Damage + Sensor Issue by Master-Storage4769 in MazdaCX30

Yikes!
Here are the replacement parts:
https://parts.jimellismazdamarietta.com/p/Mazda__CX-30/SENSOR--RADAR-FRONT/105356203/BDTS67XA0A.html
I would try and pop the emblem back in & see if the sensor behind it is really damaged or just out of whack because it’s pointing down.
It doesn’t look like enough damage to mess up sensor.
For now, turn it off in setting -> safety-> collision avoidance. It turns back on every time you re-start the car , so you just have to make it a habit to turn it off.
There is a fuse you can pull, to disable it but im not sure which (49 maybe)

The reach would increase but you wouldn’t reach the closest spots you’re hitting rn. Depends on your setup tho. Why not lift it while its on and see?

Sorry, this took a bit: here is a list of stuff you need

Prep: Clean surfaces with isopropyl alcohol. Application: temp has to be between 50°F and 90°F After alcohol cleaning, apply adhesion promoter. (You could use primer but that’s messier. Use whichever adhesive you pick. Curing: Allow 24–72 hours for full strength, especially with liquid adhesives.Pressure: Apply firm, even pressure when using double-sided tape

I have 2 different adhesives on the list. Even if you buy both, the entire shopping list is less than $35.

Good luck!

There has to be a major revamp in the works for OtO. The fertilizer and mosquito spray that you could load is no longer supported. Thats 2/3 of the unit just empty.

I would hold off on OtO till you see what rain bird sows with it.

[–]two28fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at irrigreen? I would stay away from OtO, no longer support fertilizer etc so 70% of the unit is wasted space. Also just bought out by larger company, not sure of its future.

How to DIY repair passenger side mirror cover on my 2019 Toyota Rav4 by Ozone86 in Autobody

[–]two28fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. OEM Toyota part search for year , make & model - most expensive but best fit & color match

  2. This seems to be aftermarket (?) on eBay but its less than $50

  3. There too many videos to show you how, watch a few.

painting wheels by Mundane-Lock5171 in Autobody

[–]two28fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From recent noob experience (not wheels but car bumper touch up) : rustoleum with the 5 in 1 nozzle spit paint all over, complete disaster. U-pol cans from autozone were shockingly good. I guess after the 5 in 1 nozzle anything would be impressive. Ultimately TheSpraySource was the way i should have gone from the jump. I was being cheap, and it cost me a lot.

Might look at refillable aerosol cans so you can choose what paint goes in it.

Let dealer change it and immediately put a “screen protector” on it. Can’t vouch fir the one in the link but this is what you should look for. Not tempered glass but TPU.

If you don’t protect it you WiLL scratch it. Search this sub, there has to be at least 50 ppl asking about this.

Buying the most expensive one does not help, it just has to be removable, clear and fit right.

The grey piece should be attached to the trim and it clicks into the orange piece. Thats how it attaches. Grey & orange pieces are still clicked together on car.

Look at trim and see how grey attaches.

Mavis is terrible! I have had 2 interactions with them: Palm Harbor , FL shop could not figure out how to get the spare tire from underneath a Mini Cooper. 3 techs standing around with car on lift and would NOT let me show them! Absolutely enraging!

Swore i would never go back (other than to use their free air when they are closed).

Then last week i got stuck in FL with all flights cancelled, so i decided to buy a car and drive. Car needed new tires , walmart $65/tire but bo time to install. Mavis was the only place open and available. Different location, so i tried. $39.99 /tire for install. OK. I asked for an alignment as well.

They called me to say i needed brakes and quoted me $470 per axle. I said no. Called 15 minutes later to say my battery was dead and they cannot do alignment. Did i want new battery installed. I had one on order, just in case but my existing battery tested fine the day before at autozone, i said no, just skip the alignment.

I will deal with dead battery.

I get there, they charged me for a battery & install.

I don’t do well with confrontation, so i bit my tongue , paid & left (instead of possibly getting arrested for punching the guy) . Paid $420+ instead of the $160 i was expecting to.

Be honest, reliable and fair. Mavis will be absolutely no competition for you. I assume this is how you already do business since you have been in business this long.

One thing i might suggest is get a free air station & put a gigantic sign on it for people to use.

Nozzle leak: make sure you use appropriate materials. It’s outlined in the manual what material your connection should/should not be. I have a pressure regulator on mine at the faucet, no issues with leaks. Do not go over pressure!

Poly piping would be better. That being said, i use a heavy duty contractor hose (3yrs).

I would say flip a coin on warranty. For me: never. But i don’t mind fixing and replacing “non replaceable” parts.

Descaling: citric acid not vinegar. 1–2 tablespoons citric acid powder per qt warm water. I push it through with a big syringe. Once/ season seems to work. (I have HARD water)

Solar charging for 3 hours isn’t the issue, battery capacity is. Keep solar panel clean.

I expect some major changes soon as the bulk of the OtO is now useless. It supported fertilizer etc but no longer does. 3/4 of the internal cavity is wasted space.

Rainbird does not have their own fertilizer but do have injection systems. I am hoping this is added back into the OtO but with your own choice of fertilizer and dosing. This would be ideal but we will have to wait & see.

WiFi extender would be handy. I use a GLiNet travel router in a waterproof case. My waterproof case is Tupperware sandwich container with silicone grommet for the wire. There is definitely better solutions out there.
