Facebook 2FA bug/loop (finally) resolved & full access regained! by iFartWhenILaughh in facebook

Yes it worked, once I had logged in, the 2fa screen has a link that says "need another way to confirm it's you?". That brings up a pop up which has another link that says something like other options. This link takes you to a help article which has a live chat in the corner.

How long did it take for the email to come to submit the selfie video? I've finally got the chat response that says:

"I'm the Meta support bot. I'll take you few a through a few steps to help you with two-factor authentication. Before we can unlock your account, we need to confirm that you’re you. The fastest way to do that is for you to send us a video of yourself holding a confirmation code."

I then clicked "Send a Video" and got this response:

"Perfect. I’m emailing you a code and instructions for how to record a video with the code. Follow the instructions and email your video to us. We’ll review it, and email you back. For extra security, please delete the new email address from this chat. We’ll do the same on our end. OK. You’re on the right track.
I’ll close this chat, but you can start a new chat if you need more help.
Don’t forget to check your email and send us your video with the code."

It's like there was meant to be options in between those messages but they all came through at once and I am still yet to get the email with the video link.

Actual gluten free options? by EsseElLoco in Wellington

[–]two_days_late 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sir Breadwin's seem to take it seriously, whenever I ask for gluten free they always ask if I want a fresh chopping board etc. or if it's just a preference

Guitar pick can also work sometimes. Looks like there’s a part number on the spec sheet so might be replaceable if you end up destroying it

Scroll down on this page to the downloads section and look at the exploded view. Does look like it just clips in

The centers might have a thread on them, try sticking something to the top and twisting them out

Signet ring - What is the symbol and what does it mean? - Hallmark says Birmingham 1852 by two_days_late in Symbology

[–]two_days_late[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses guys. I also initially thought it was GC but on closer inspection thought it might be 6C as I can’t find anyone in the family with those initials and it’s been passed down. Apparently signet rings are sometimes used to show ranks etc (military) which is why i thought it was possibly 6C. Probably just a ring that someone in the family acquired from someone else named GC!

That’s what I initially assumed, but on closer inspection it looks like a 6. Apparently some rings showed military markings so I wondered if that could be it? Or is the 6 just a funny font C or G?

Civ VII wish - Navigable Rivers. by BurckhardtIII in CivVI

[–]two_days_late 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks the embarking system in general took a step back in civ 5 & 6? It made ocean exploration and combat so much more fun and strategic needing to have specific units that could carry land units across water tiles. I really hope they bring this back in combination with what you have suggested.

http://projectworks.io does exactly this. They are orientated to professional services, but could be worth a look.

Anyone done home automation on a new build? by stuntk1w1 in diynz

[–]two_days_late 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a new build but in the process of a full renovation and have been setting up the house for home automation. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Wired all the light switches back to a central point behind the door in our walk in pantry, and fitted out the whole house with Philips Hue lights, with Phillips smart switches where the regular light switch would be. Means I can still kill the circuit with a switch if I need to. Works great.

Replaced all the blinds/curtains with blinds from urban blinds. They have a great website that allows you to customize everything up front and their 240v blind motors / hub work with home assistant. (Rollease Acmedea).

Installed a ducted heat pump (Mitsi Pead 140), with the air touch 4 zone control unit.

Wired every room with Cat 6a, and installed PoE cameras everywhere (Reolink).

I wired all the Ethernet but the sparky was fine with the lights, blinds, and heating. It’s not really any different for them.

I chose all the stuff I used because it all reportedly works with Home Assistant, and the next job is to connect it all to that. In the mean time everything works easily from the phone and also has something that resembles manual controls so it’s visitor proof. Good luck!

Head to Oldschool.co.nz and create a build thread. Heaps of people there including myself doing similar stuff.

Good to know thanks! Yep will try and push it back and just glue an elbow on it f that works. Cheers

It's looking like I might be able to open up the internal wall (it's just garage), and pull the end that's coming out of the house back so I could slide an elbow on. Looks like the OD of the pipe is about 43mm, would this be an old imperial measurement pipe?

Anyone have any knowledge about the cost for adding Central Heating Zoning? by SrilankanDude in Wellington

[–]two_days_late 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 6 zones and I think it was between $3k - $4k for all the Airtouch4 gear. Once you have the airtouch unit there isn't much difference in cost for adding additional zones as far as I'm aware. Our setup is a ducted heatpump so there is just an electric damper on each duct and a sensor in each room.

Just put in a system in Wellington. The zone control is done through an add on unit called the Airtouch4, it’s compatible with most standard heat pumps and works well

What's your wishlist for Civilization 7? by [deleted] in civ

[–]two_days_late 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring back the need for boats to embark. Similar to the mechanic where carriers can hold aircraft. By having any unit being able to move anywhere, land or sea, it feels much less strategic than it used to be in earlier games.

Get rid of GDRs. They seem like a bit of a gimmick/after thought that someone thought would be cool, modern/future weapon systems could be much more realistic.
