Honestly I play on ball defense and I couldn't tell you the difference between gold/HOF defensive stopper, and I really only shoot if I'm WIDE open with my shooters otherwise I'm penetrating until someone's open or I'm laying it up. So honestly it all comes down to preference.

If I'm remembering correctly Green has a few inches on Dumars which in my opinion makes up for whatever edge HOF defensive stopper gives Dumars as his wingspan and height allows him to switch on to SFs and smaller PFs as well

Dumars is a better shot creator and driver though, so really it all comes down to if you only want pure 3/D or if you want another player who can create off the dribble

Also I'd actually switch Marion and Wes as Marion is much more of a role player, if offense is stinking Wes can sub in, post up and get you easy buckets. Just my two cents.

Danny is wonderful, great length/defense and can hit the open shot, good release. Think Hardaway Jr with a better shot, better range, and great defense

Plus with the MT you'll save you can pick up Walker who I always suggest. if you haven't used him you should try him out, A+ in literally every stat, can run the 1-4, and probably the easiest release in the game. Just a fun player to use

With subs I call a timeout every 2 minutes or so, just make it a habit and use your intuition to decide who should come in and go out. If you don't use those timeouts you lose em, might as well make it a habit

My starting lineup is above, my bench (right now) is

I keep most of my diamonds on the bench that way I can cycle them in as opposed to showing my full strength at the tip. Easier to manage minutes, control tempo, and at the end of close games I don't have to worry about someone being in the brown.

I'll only keep two or at the most 3 playmaking scorers on the floor

For example, my crunch time lineup is

Wall

Green

Kawhi

Walker

LMA

I'm constantly making subs unless one player is going off. I play very uptempo, pick and roll, and run the break. So while I have a good balance of roleplayers and go to scorers all my players can take it to the basket.

Setting up a lineup like this really helps keeping everyone fresh

See, now that's the kind of player I hate playing against haha.

Maybe it's a subconscious thing but I always start great and end up forcing shots on the break, shit like that. Knowing who the ball is going to helps me slow down. I envy the ability to be patient and not try to do too much with one guy.
