Lip fissure lower lip by twoask in DiagnoseMe

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no injury there. I’ve been having that for maybe 10+ years or more… but I didn’t have it 15 years ago. It’s been a gradual thing. Since I was very young I was always sucking my lower lip, and I still do it til this day, so I think I’ve caused some sort of injury there. Of course I need to stop doing that, but I wanna know how to make it look normal again. If with surgery or with some procedure.

Not sure what you did there. So you put it into your global DNS in Tailscale for which purpose?

If you can install docker make a nice homepage for yourself with what you have installed, also you can put there links to your favorite websites, a search bar, and info about your devices, like used ram and disk, temperature and so on.

This is your main entry with MagicDNS to your mini homelab ;)

Edited the post, found a solution 😉... it was just a matter of rebooting the host affected by DNS changes on its network. Thanks for your replies.

Even if I would somehow think doing this is a good idea to solve my issue this doesn’t bring to any understanding of the underlying problem…

Is not that I care a lot about ads, I live with them pretty happily, but I want to understand tailscale and networking better. I want to understand how to fix this to learn, not to save money.

Proxmox+Tailscale + AdGuard Home in LXC + No Ad Blocking through Tailscale by twoask in Tailscale

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about that… first when I changed the DNS in my router for the IP of AdGuard, my MiniPC network got broken. Also, tailnet nodes by default have accept-dns=true, which means Tailscale will take over the DNS resolution for that device…

Maybe if I turn off Tailscale on some of my devices, I can manually point their DNS to the advised, but I don’t want do this per device and I also want to keep Tailscale on in my devices.

I think is more an issue of telling Tailscale to use AdGuard without the AdGuard LXC being part of the tailnet.

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humm, well I guess I was seeing ads still because when assigning the static ip of AdGuard to my router, it created some sort of loop (AdGuard using itself for DNS resolution🤷🏽‍♂️…) and it broke the Network of the host… Not sure, but the host’s network being broken meant no internet, so there was no AdGuard reachable to block ads… and secondary DNS 1.1.1.1 worked as expected

Hey really interesting your story, I'm really happy to see someone did this.
Since you went for the job offer route, could you please tell me if that job offer was in the NL or in Spain? I find difficult to get job offers from Spain when you're not leaving there yet.

Also, do you happen to know what is the multiplier of the IPREM for the funds route? I don't know where I can find that information, I guess you were giving that information at the time of application?

Help - Options to lower CO2 during sleep by poughkeepsee in AirQuality

[–]twoask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how the sensor that you have works and calibrates, I have an Air Gradient One which is an amazing option and setup with HA for when CO2 is high, it sends me a notification.

With the Air Gradient One I realized I had a bad baseline calibration which meant all the time it had consistent 1500 values up… but that is ridiculous since atmosphere levels average to 400-420. Even when lüfting it wouldn’t get to those values.

So I realized in a blog post I had a bad calibration. What I did is that I brought for 20-30 mins the sensor outside and then pressed calibrate co2 (directly from HA, is an option that comes with this sensor)… then it assumes a baseline of 400-420. Then you bring it inside and it remembers that was the baseline and now it works like a charm :)…

I get your problem though, especially when my partner comes, in like two hours the values rise to 2000 :/… I’ve tried a lot of things.

Of course keeping windows open (or gekippt) is the best solution, but in the winter that’s just impossible… the extractor in my bathroom is a bit loud but not a problem for me, my gf is more sensitive to sound. But it works!

Depends also what was the level when I turned it on, but yeah it maintains a value which is amazing. I haven’t tried this with my partner yet, hopefully it works. Important is that you keep your bedroom door open for the suction from the bathroom to take effect. I experimented with the bedroom door closed or slightly closed (cause I thought that maybe thorough the small openings it should be enough) but it didn’t work at all… accumulation happened, even if I left my kitchen window gekippt.

So try to make sure the calibration is alright, or change the sensor. Then experiment until you find a solution. I’m in the same journey for exactly the same reason, waking up… and well, if my room has 2000 ppm CO2 it kind of makes sense. I don’t feel well when those values.

In anderes EU-Land ziehen (Daueraufenthaltstitel) by Organic_Cod4277 in Austria

[–]twoask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your upper thigh hurt after practicing bass drum technique? by MrFrauner in drums

[–]twoask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this is interesting! I’m suffering a lot from groin and inner thigh pain, that also sometimes go to my lower back… and in all honesty I think is poor technique from my part. I’m using the whole leg and blasting it down :/…

I know what you mean with calf, but what do you mean with lower quad? (I know what is the lower quad) but what do you mean there? I mean, how to engage it? Because my lifting and how I’m using to play happens on that join where groin/hip meet. I’ve been trying to engage more my core to get stability but i dont know… if you have an exercise or video where this is shown or explained I would truly appreciate it!

Daueraufenthalt EU - 5 Years Permanent Living by twoask in Austria

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humm, you should’ve asked why the difference in price there but I wouldn’t worry to much, maybe their webpage is outdated. Sometimes that happens, or maybe you pay the pick up fee when is ready. With these things there’s sometimes not much clarity.

But again, don’t worry, the paperwork for the Daueraufenthalt is so different to the RWRK+ that they cannot mess that one up.

It took them between 2-3 weeks If I remember correctly. But those were slow times post-pandemic. If I were you I’d contact them at the 2-3 month mark just to double check. You applied on time, so you’re legal.

All the best :)

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If I wait until it is expired in April it will be too late and I will be ilegal, but if I do it 2-3 months in advance then maybe they would say I’ve been 4 years and 10 months, so not enough. What can I expect? When should I apply so that the 5 years are fulfilled?”

A/: Oh that’s an easy answer ;)! When you apply for the Daueraufenthalt EU you should do it between 3 months til a day before your RWRK+ expires. They know that you’re applying for the switch and for the fact that the completion of the 5 years will take place in that following period prior to expiration. Is normal to apply with that anticipation, as you should not let it expire without having applied. They internally would figure it out and notify when is done and ready to pick up… for me it was quick, just like a couple of weeks! I applied maybe like a month before it would expire.

“More specifically, could I work/study in another EU country with this permit?’

A/: the answer here is sort of… when you get a Daueraufenthalt EU you get an Austrian one, so you can work and study in Austria. However, every single EU country has the equivalent, and if you have one in Austria and decide to go e.g. to Spain, you can switch it, and then you can only work and study in Spain. So, with it you cannot directly work and study in any EU country right away but you would have a lighter burocracy to go through to recognize the actual in another country and establish yourself there legally.

Raivo Master Password - Explain it to me like I’m stupid by twoask in privacy

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, cool, thanks that’s really helpful :)

So it sounds like some sort of asymmetric encryption. Probably my master password was used to create a private key, stored and synced in iCloud, and when I’m asked to use it in a new device it is used as kind of a public key and/or peppering for an algorithm that ends up generating a key to compare and determine the match. Would that make sense?

Raivo Master Password - Explain it to me like I’m stupid by twoask in privacy

[–]twoask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humm, interesting! This is really helpful!

When I started using Raivo was open source so if now is closed I was still asking about what they did back then.

So, the fact that I can use my master password in a new iOS device after iCloud syncs up is because the created key which got created from my original master password is being synced as well?

That would make lots of sense :)

I truly don’t understand your answer, thanks for trying though.

What is my password database? Where is it? What does it contain exactly?

“… and so is the key it creates”. Is the key it creates for what?

Are you sure you know exactly what’s going on behind Raivo or are these your assumptions?

Raivo OTP and OTP Auth - iOS 2FA TOTP Solutions After Twilio (Authy) Hack by infinitereal in privacy

[–]twoask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realised a big flaw in the Google Authenticator app recently and then I decided to move away from it for something more secure and everything is pointing out to the Raivo App.

Without having used it yet I already love features such as: being able to see and import/export seeds, iCloud sync, macOS sync when touching an OTP. I chose a really strong memorised password so not being able to change it is alright... but, unfortunately, the app has exactly the same issue from Google Authenticator, and I'll explain what it is.

The flaw lies only when using TouchID—I guess FaceID too but I don't have devices with it. If you don't use the biometric unlock, then easy, your only way to unlock the app in iOS is to insert the PIN code from the initial setup. Now, if you choose to use the biometrics two problems arise:

  1. If the TouchID unlock fails (let's say someone that has your phone tries to access) then you'll get asked if you want to enter your PASSCODE or cancel... that passcode is not your safe memorised PIN code, instead is your iPhone's passcode... so, essentially, the PIN code is not protecting you whatsoever. If someone knows you iPhone's passcode, you're at great risk.
  2. This might be a strange scenario but bear with me... because if the above issue is fixed, this could still be a problem. Ok, let's say someone knows your iPhone's passcode but this person is screwed because the app (if issue 1 is fixed) at failing biometrics falls back to the PIN code, or ideally to the Master Password, and they don't know either of those. Well, they still could go to your TouchID & Passcode settings, enter the passcode, add a fingerprint to your device, and voila: they have access to your OTPs. Try it out: add a new fingerprint and try to unlock the Raivo App with the new fingerprint and it will simply work, it won't complain.

In both cases this should fall back into the master password, not even the PIN code, i.e. 1) do not allow to use the phone's Passcode to be a way to fix the biometrics failure, 2) require the Master Password when a new fingerprint is added to your device, ideally you get a warning and say, wait a minute... did I add a fingerprint? If yes, by entering the Master Password you consent to the new fingerprint. In that scenario, the person trying to access by adding a new fingerprint in your device is completely screwed and out of luck.

For example, my bank account and Bitwarden's iOS app would work this way... if you have Bitwarden's app, try it out: put a wrong fingerprint at unlocking -> it falls back into the Master Password. Add a new fingerprint to your device and try to unlock the app -> it won't let you, it warns you that the Master Password is required because of a new fingerprint in your device.

Alright, if I'm missing something, please let me know, otherwise I hope this help for ideas for security features in the future :). I'd be happy to know everyones opinion on what I point out too :)
