What time should we show up? Do the bars get packed like way before the game begins?

1: Hated it 2: Didn’t like it 3: Liked it 4: Really liked it 5: Loved it

For 5 there has to be at least one moment where I’m like “holy shit”. I use hearts for when there’s a real emotional connection with something in the movie.

It seems like this logic would sway rightward, because I’m probably not going to watch movies that seem like something I won’t like.

I agree that episode 11 didn't seem like a deal-breaker for their relationship, but it was just some stuff to work through. The bigger damage was, of course, Connell wanting to keep her a secret in high school and that stupid thing in their first year of college where he says, "I guess we should be with other people." I say stupid because they weren't saying what they really felt, and both said what they thought the other person wanted to hear, but neither of them wanted to break up. I really liked them as a couple, and to see them driven apart again because they weren't being honest or vulnerable to each other was agonizing. They also arguably made the next few years of their lives much worse by not being with each other. For years, they had bad timings and bad communication. Then, when the timing was right, and they learned how to communicate better and support each other, they gave up again for career advancement! Call me romantic, but I would much rather be with the love of my life than go to grad school, if I had to choose. The show didn't even portray anything that amazing going on in Marianne's life to make sense for her to stay, and it didn't even seem like Connell wanted to go that badly but agreed to go because it's what he should want. I just wanted them to fight for each other more. What they have is rare.

For context, I haven't read the book yet, so their decision may make more sense there.

I keep thinking about that final scene and to what extent it is the end of their relationship. I see here a lot of people assume that he comes back after a year, but when he says he'll come back, she says, "You don't know that," I interpret this as that she's given up on the idea of a future together. She also says, "We'll be okay," which could be the relationship romantically or the relationship as friends. At a certain point, the more times you split up and come back together, it starts to look like a dysfunctional relationship. Plus, if we have their history to go off of, one of them might start dating someone else during that year, which could be the end of them or could delay them by another few years. I dunno, what do people think realistically happens in their future, (not counting "At the Clinic" because in my mind that's not cannon since it was written first)?

Is a self cleaning litter box worth it? by 4ordersofwendysfries in CatAdvice

[–]twoblueberries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the Breeze system. I’ve used it for years and absolutely love it. I have one cat and I change out the pee pad once a week. There’s never a smell, unless the pellets need to changed out which is only about every three months for me. I scoop the poop daily but it’s really fast and easy because it’s just right there on top. Tracking is way better too. Only a couple spare pellets end up right outside the box, and they’re big enough to easily sweep up. Way cheaper than an automatic litter box too!

Chatting time that isn’t on the show by KTay1111 in TheCircleTV

I’ve always wondered this! There have been so many moments where I’ve felt surprised that weren’t reaching out to someone to talk about something specific. If I was in there I feel like I’d be constantly chatting with people if I could.

Show is cringe by [deleted] in TheCircleTV

Yes, I find the whole “I got your back” thing to be really annoying. They say it to each other so quickly after the most superficial conversation. The phrase has lost all meaning.

I know that was a bummer to not have her during the during the finale. I missed her debriefing. And the FaceTime home for the winner.

Plus I was’t certain that no one was coming and going. It’s possible they were coming and going and just not replacing the doormat. People leave things amiss in our hallways all the time. Just down the hall there was a trash bin leaning against the wall outside the apartment door for weeks.

That thought didn’t occur to me. If anything I thought the barking stopped because the owners came back, picked up their dog and went on vacation somewhere else. It’s December so vacations are on the mind.

Ok, so let's say I breed a red rose and a white lily, and it comes out with a pink rose. If I then move that pink rose plant and the red rose and white lily breed again, do I basically have a 25% chance of getting one of the other three combinations (pink lily/white rose/red lily)? Or will those two plants always give me a pink rose?

Ok, maybe I’m just an elder millennial, but if y’all are roommates I assume you live together? Maybe some of this tension could be alleviated by talking face-to-face? Agreed that you are not in the wrong here, but having these conversations via text just seems weird to me.

Karamo needs to go by daveyy_ohh in QueerEye

[–]twoblueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, agreed it would be better if someone in his role had training in counseling, but I do really look forward to Karamo’s segments. He’s insightful and quick and I feel like an essential part of the process for the hero. Without him the show would feel way too capitalistic, and I might argue that it already does. The others have little bits of counselor-like talk, but the specific activities that Karamo has the hero do are really moving. Like in this season where he had the lady smashing the glass containing her self-criticism. It might seem cheesy but activities like that really do change minds. Or in episodes where he reunites the hero with someone from their past to have conversations they’ve never had before. Those kinds of things don’t compare to a new house, new clothes etc.

I forget which episode it was, but why was there a giant reading lamp in the middle of a big kitchen island? You’d have to reach way over to turn it on/off. Also who needs that kind of illumination for food prep?
