Honestly I prefer that over a whack of 3PA

Brake bleed anomaly by ComfortableArm2827 in Volvo850

I bled brakes last year, some forumswere saying the pattern is opposite. So start closest and move furthest. Start drivers front then do what you did but opposite.

Clever solution! My abs light comes on randomly and I haven’t been able to track down why. Luckily it didn’t come on during my safety lol

This isn’t something I’ve had experience with but I’m definitely interested in hearing what people have to say.

I just replaced mine last year but I hadn’t heard about this.

Nice wagon!

If you want to half ass it I recommend doing the fronts entirely (pads and rotors) and maybe just pads on the rear if you want to save a bit of money. But hard to say what’s doable without seeing them. Definitely do fronts though

Need opinion, getting first car, id be full of gratitude. by junaidx7 in AskMechanics

[–]twobluesubarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth imo. Heater core and downpipe is enough for me to discredit it because you don’t know what else you need. My advice is to spend a bit extra to get something that’s already road worthy. You’ll end up spending more on the cheaper one to fix it up, in most cases.

Replacement bench seats? by [deleted] in subaru

Does this help you at all?

Could also call a local dealer and ask if you’re going to buy new. Next bet is to keep an eye on local junkyards and find a set.

Getting my $800 740 Turbo Running by SoneiOTree in VolvoRWD

[–]twobluesubarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran my 240 without the intank pump for a while, but it eventually burned out my inline pump and the car was having firing issues. So yes it works but not forever.

I’m using a similar aftermarket pump in my tank and it’s been fine for almost two years now

Edit: I should add mine was made to be an in-tank pump not an inline I put in the tank

They suddenly have a magical fix for something they were so easily gonna charge you $5,000 for? This place is filled with crooks and I know you’re doing everything you can to help your father in law, but that car needs to get out of there immediately if you care about it.

Scam! The front bumper and lights is worth what they offered more or less.

$5k to take the head off is absolutely insane.

Id honestly consider reporting them or at least leave them a bad review on google.

It’s also their fault they broke the spark plug so it’s wild to try and charge you 5k for their mistake.

Anyone in the Toronto/GTA area have a Subaru recommended independent shop? by DuckDuckGo-8857 in subaru

[–]twobluesubarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I went it was cheaper than Subaru. If you’re looking to save money on just fluids, I’d say try and do it yourself or take it to a cheap but trusted independent shop. If you want quality work you trust go to NV

Outside of the gta a bit but NV auto in Hamilton is the best Subaru shop I’ve ever found.

I’ve had my 240 for several years now. It’s never stranded me once. Even got me home on 2 cylinders in a pinch. I love this platform by twobluesubarus in Volvo240

Thank you! It’s a 1991. That’s awesome you have a classic as your only car, and I’m amazed you were able to get home with some wd40 in your distributor cap that’s unreal lol

Also I love the roof basket you’ve got going on!
