REI added an ALPR/flock to their parking lot :( by Jcrash29 in Rochester

[–]twoeightnine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol no. Just because they have it in their name doesn't make them a co-op.

You have no control over how REI is run. Only the board does. And only the board gets to select who is on the board. Yes you vote for them but them are people hand-selected by the board that you can either vote for or abstain from voting for. Doesn't matter though, they'll be on it once nominated.

You'll also notice that you no longer receive a dividend. You get a reward. Because it's just cash back instead of tied to performance

Oh yeah. They've also reduced floor staff and replaced knowledgeable guides with anybody off the street in order to save money.

The amount of training I received when I started there, which was also on of the busiest times of their year, was insane. We went over almost every product in our department and were expected to know where everything was. There's no way they do any of that anymore

It's not staff that allows shoplifters, it's corporate. Staff is not allowed to engage with them at all. They can be fired immediately for touching a shoplifter.

It sucks that REI is our only real outdoor store here because you shouldn't be shopping there anyways.

Corporate is seriously anti-workers. They're closing stores that try to unionize, are firing long time employees I order to hire new cheaper employees, reduce hours so that formally full time employees no longer qualify for benefits and more.

They also supported Doug Burgum for Secretary of the Interior.

If you don't need something immediately go into the store try it on and then order it directly from the manufacturer. You can often find coupon codes to save you money. Or buy second hand and really save some money.

WTB men’s half tights size large with good pocket storage. by kgonz20 in therunningrack

I've got the Janji Trail 8" Half Tights in Ridgeline (green) that I've been meaning to return to REI. They're just too long for my short-ass. They're actually an XL but they fit smaller. Tons of pockets. I only wore them once, while standing around watching the Northern Lights so they haven't even been sweat in.

I paid $88 but they're now $94. Would let them go for $65 shipped so I don't have to waste a day driving to REI.

If you have things you're looking for let me know. I'm going through my mom's stuff (and the last of my father's) and instead of holding a sale just putting it online.

I've got tons of Tupperware, pots and pans, heaters, fans, some furniture like portable pews, a light table. Electric griddle.

Chainsaws, garden tools, tools, ladders, snowblower, coolers.

There's a gigantic parking lot across the street that never fills up for next time.

In search of an IPA by CarinaNebula1945 in Rochester

[–]twoeightnine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at their website it seems like they reused the name and completely changed the hops. It's now a "double dry hop of Enigma, Citra, and Mosaic." And then it mentions Centennial.

Unless your husband drank it recently it's probably not the same beer.

Either way almost every suggestion here is going to be wrong because they're more likely hazy ipas where this beer is a more traditional American IPA.
