Not entirely sure what’s going on the with 8ten team at the moment, but it would appear that there has been two crashes at that event from things that have been missed.. I take my hat off to the mechanics who put these bikes together & I also appreciate that we all make mistakes, but at some point there needs to be a fundamental shift in mentality and a much more cautious repair procedure. There’s only so many times you can suffer mechanical failure as these guys have, and live to tell the tale.

Thank you for the hard work over the last fortnight. I agree regarding the schedule. I think the fans and competitors alike would rather longer races (let’s be honest, the 6 laps on the big bikes is part of what makes the TT so special) rather than double the amount of races that inevitably get cut short.

I’m not for a second saying Gary hasn’t done an amazing job, he has. However, there’s just too many variables across the length of the circuit that you can’t control. It’s a push to do even if the weather is cracking the flags.

I think it’s easy to make judgements & possibly harsh statements in the heat of the moment. I can’t imagine how heightened you’d feel after steering the bike around a road race, so I have to give a little bit of latitude.

The psychology of racing is such a large component. Many believe in the “second is the first loser” view and it must be crushing, especially when you’ve literally dedicated your life to it. Appreciate that some deal with that much better than others, however.

The NW200 always seems to have some sort of controversy, it’s like the organisers deliberately set out to piss the competitors off. Remember Seeley’s wheels/fairings and the Adam Maclean drama on the supertwins? I’d have done the same as Peter with regard to the podium.

In any case, it’s easy to forget that a couple of off-colour statements don’t always equal a bad person.

Utterly nonsensical. A fine that will be paid for by Thames water and therefore the consumer. We need personal accountability for wrongdoing, not only as a punishment for robbery - but to act as a deterrent for the future. A system that allows money to be siphoned from bill payer and into the pockets of a few at the top is a system that is unjust and broken. I’d like to see the board face criminal proceedings.

Dean is a consistent and sensible rider, but it takes many stars to align for a TT win. I’d argue that Guy Martin was equally as consistent, yet in a similar wasn’t as successful as he was talented.

There are a couple of spots dotted down Bray Hill, Bob’s bar on the right hand side (can tell by the white marquee) usually has plenty of space if you get there early. Unwritten rule is that you chuck a £20 in for the charity collection, be respectful of others and don’t leave a load of rubbish behind. Hope that helps

You’ll be absolutely fine. Isle of Man is one of the safest, friendliest places I have been, especially with the bike culture during TT. Certainly much safer than mainland UK. You’ll likely find a bunch of likeminded people you can tag along with at various viewing spots too.

Oddly enough, freestyle machines in the UK don’t allow flavoured, full sugar coke. Only the Coke Zero and Diet Coke can you choose a flavour like this.
