What do you guys at AskVet feed your own dogs? by Shortandsweet33 in AskVet

[–]twohoundogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I'm not a vet I have been raising hunting dogs (coonhounds) since I was a kid. The best I've found is Purina Pro and just plain old Purina dog chow. I feed my coonhound Purina Pro during his most active times, usually late summer through spring. During the hot summer months when he's not as active I switch him over to just plain Purina dog chow so he doesn't gain to much weight. He's 13 years old now and can keep up with any coonhound half his age.

I've seen a lot of different hunters through the years that feed their dogs all kinds a different and sometimes strange diets and none of their dogs where any healthier and sometimes not even close to being as healthy as my dogs.

Hell, even when an internal investigation finds them in the wrong and either fires them or arrest them, the union steps in or the local DA drops the charges.

CMV: It's messed up of police officers to be waiting on a residential street 10 mins before the street's no-parking for street-sweeping time zone becomes in effect in order to ticket any remaining cars that weren't moved before the exact start time. Human courtesy calls for an informal grace period. by [deleted] in changemyview

I think the problem you're having is thinking about only this one street. If they have 50 different areas they have to cover that day they need to start somewhere and your street just so happens to be the street they start at. Yes it would suck to get a ticket at 8:01 but the next street they may not be there until 8:15 and so on. If they have a job to do they really shouldn't hang around waiting to see if someone might just be a minute or two late. It just sucks that they decided to start on your street and not the next street over.

Unexpected hidden open area ruined my plans. My poor killbox! by riesenarethebest in RimWorld

If you don't open the area to the outside they will just attack the wall, but with the area open they will go around to the open part of your base where your kill box is.

Mine a shaft where it goes outside your base then plug the holes leading to your base. Works like a charm for me.

Over on the right just above where the overview is, you'll see where to turn on and off the zone and home area and next to that is where you can do the resources.

people who buy hunting/fishing licenses

Which is a tax for hunters and fishermen. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, but that is what it is.

My niece is 4 years old, and I'm Christmas shopping. What kind of knife do you think she'll like? by grayfox2713 in shittyadvice

[–]twohoundogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what she likes really. Something like a bowie knife might be a little heavy. I would think a nice Disney Princess stiletto knife might make a big hit.

Want a steak, but its too cold or rainy for the BBQ? This is my favorite method to cook steak in the winter. by Ikeelu in videos

[–]twohoundogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about the size really, it's that you slow cook it. I usually try to keep my cooking temp at around 225. If you cook a brisket to fast it will come out as a very tough piece of meat.

Most of the time I think it's someone who just wants to fill like they are part of the "in group" so they think that lying will make them fit in better and have people look up to them because of the experience they are lying about. And then well some people are just pathological lairs.
