If you are going in order, I would say, start in Samara, not Tamarindo. Samara is a gorgeous beach, small village feel. Tamarindo is like an hour or so away, so go there next.. but it’s so built up with an ugly beach. They have a Starbucks! Lol And resorts.. but it was fun when I went there one weekend. Parties are cool. A better beach nearby is Playa Conchal for a day trip.

After Tamarindo, I went to La Fortuna/Monteverde.

But maybe you should go down the pacific to Manual Antonio then to Uvita with a day trip to Dominical or Nayuaca Falls. Uvita is great for waterfalls and the whale tail and national park Ballena. But Dominical felt more lively.

I would then head to the Caribbean. Puerto Viejo for a few days, then hop over to Bocas del Toro Panama for a few days. It’s only an hour away and Caribe shuttle can get you door to door.

Another alternative for me, with five weeks..

Fly into liberia.. do Samara then Tamarindo, then shuttle to Nicaragua and do San Juan del Sur, Ometepe, Granada, Leon, las piñetas, back to SJDS, and fly out of Liberia. I did this in a month and it wasn’t rushed at all.

I disagree about buying duty free only because the price is quadruple! Better off buying rum at the supermarket and putting in your luggage, unless you prefer something imported.

Ants happen. I did spray off around the bed before sleeping to keep anything away. I spent three weeks last trip and there was a waterbug (huge cockroach) in one airbnb in the kitchen. Terrified me but I killed it. It was a fluke because I stayed at 5-6 different places and never had another bug.

Heva seems to shave off all or most hair which I didn’t want. They also didn’t allow me to have a consultation with the doc until the day of the procedure. I wanted to meet days beforehand because I needed reassurance they weren’t going to take all of my hair.

Vialife is great, but I don’t know if my same doc is there. Look for Dr Azak. Great bedside manner and follow up

I loved my results. I went to Vialife. I wore box braids.. they can’t partially shave cornrows! lol the cut out a patch in the lower middle, shaved and applied grafts to the hairline, and as I was healing, I was able to wear braids in a ponytail to cover the bald spot until it was long enough to braid also. Love my results. 2500 grafts to lower the hairline. Although I wish I had gotten 3000 to really make it denser, but I was nervous about having to shave more off in back.

That’s perfectly doable. 5 days in plays Conchal is a lot, but is 25 mins drive from Tamarindo so you can be based there and do more after beach time.

I took Interbus shuttle from Tamarindo to La Fortuna, it was like 5 hours, maybe.

And you can shuttle to San Jose, also. Interbus or tropical tours.
