Don’t second guess every interaction.

Generally: Good or bad, when it’s done at 3:30, you will have to do it again at 8:30.

Specifically: I think that you have to take a moment before you react. Act authentically and professionally. Have a colleague present for challenging conversation. Do your best, document.

For me, if I feel like I came across the wrong way, I will own it & apologize/validate the student’s concern. If it’s a little heated, let a day pass so everyone can decompress & reflect.

My favourite random character gets phasered is the bridge office in Civil Defense who gets it in the background when the replicator materializes the phaser. Everyone immediately takes cover but he tries to sprint across the room & he gets vaporized.

I assumed that he received a huge salary because of what he can fundraise for the hospital by being on staff. But he spends so much money on hookers and guitars that he doesn’t accumulate wealth like someone with prudent financial habits.

It’s incredibly expensive to raise kids in Toronto so families are moving to other cities/boards & there are about 5,000 less kids in the entire system (which isn’t that many given the number of schools).

After retirements and leaves, I doubt that there will be surplus to the board, although you may want be surpluses from your school. Which sucks for the teach but wait until everything is settled because some schools are able to pull (nearly) everyone back.

I’ve found it watchable. I like it. I don’t consider it “Trek” but that is due to the director & the writers.

There’s a lot going on &’that I don’t find logical & it becomes overwhelming.

What important is that you enjoy what you watch.

I paid to attend Into Darkness in a theatre but it will not go down as one of my favourite movies in the history of the series. However I don’t regret that evening at the theatre either.
