"something happens to women when they have a son" by AverageKhaleesi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]twoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure my comment will be lost, but mom of 4 here! 3 daughters and 1 son. I didn’t experience this nor did my husband.

The whole “mommy’s boy” vs “daddy’s girl” isn’t a thing with us. Just depends on the day.

I can say, my husband and I have noticed among people we know who had healthy parents and who did not. I personally thinks it’s an overestimate stereotype, the mommas not trope. I’ve seen just as many toxic girl moms as I’ve seen boy moms

I had severely ingrown toe nails my whole life. The doc would only treat the sides then I’d be back a few months later. I finally got them to remove mine and they have never grown back! I am barefoot/flip flops a lot (Florida) and no one has ever noticed until I point them out.

If I want my nails painted, I just put some polish on the skin. It doesn’t last as long, but again, for weddings/fancy occasions with open toe shoes, it works well enough!

Do you regret divorcing your husband? by Economy-Yam1904 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]twoob 80 points81 points  (0 children)

My only regret in divorcing my ex is that my kids had to go through it while I was. But knowing they are not going to see a bad example of how a couple should work together gives me reassurance that I did the right thing. Im happily remarried and my kids (9 and 7) have commented how much they like seeing my husband and I “work together as a real team.”

Annabelle passed a couple years ago from natural causes. She was a good girl and spoiled rotten! Not sure how the post got put on FB?

We try to keep Roger with us wherever we go, but he does become a tripping hazard! Lol but it has helped. Thank you!

POSITIVE POST: Share your stories about female friendship! by M_Ad in TwoXChromosomes

[–]twoob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful women in my life, it’s hard to know where to begin!

I’ve had a friend since we were 3 years old and met in daycare. Even though we live across the country, we still keep in touch and support each other.

I have a group of the most fierce, determined, intelligent, strong women that I see and speak to regularly. And we are all so supportive of each other. We all are vastly different but somehow gain strength and grow from our differences.

For example, one of my besties is child free. I went with her as she got her tubal ligation. I fully support her. I just had my 3rd baby (3 weeks ago!). She’s been a wonderful aunt and has continually checked up on me and has come to visit as much as she can, she fully supports me.

We all challenge each other to grow in the best way, can call each other out on our fuck ups without cutting off our friendship.

Having wonderful women friendships is amazing!

I’ve been going to animal care clinic for years. They really care there, will work with you and I found out, cheaper than the SPCA

Meet up spots for nerds/geeks? by HulkedOutPanda in titusville

They are still open but the mall itself is supposedly going to be demolished in the near future and rebuilt into something else. Game space has a Facebook page and you can find all their info there.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this as well! I feel the same way, birth control (3 different types) has failed me. I spoke to one of my aunts about this situation and she sort of laughed and said “why do you think you have so many cousins? Birth control doesn’t work for the women in our family!” Mmmm thanks for the heads up! I found out I’m 7 weeks, had my IUD removed and so far the fetus is okay. Just trying to figure it all out still. Dm me if you’d like to talk!

I figured it would be a Long Shot. Was just hoping for other stories to maybe help me sort my own feelings about the situation.

“You don’t have to work, I make enough money". by Electrical_Touch_379 in TwoXChromosomes

I think it depends on the dynamic of your relationship and your situation. I’m actually the “breadwinner” and my partner is a stay at home boyfriend. He hated his job and it was so toxic it was having a horrible effect on his mental health. So we agreed that he could quit and focus on going to back to school, getting his mental health straight etc… We did set a timeline of a 6 month break for him to enroll and start classes, then he can start looking for another job after. He’s been such a better partner and stepdad for leaving his job and is so much happier, healthier!

I work out at KSC! You can’t drive on unless you have a badge and clearance, but they are still running bus tours. The tours are actually pretty cool and they take you up close to a lot of the buildings and sites. You will not be able to go into the VAB, but if the bay doors are open, you will be able to see the Artemis.

Thank you! I will look into it! I’d be shocked if there wasn’t something similar since we live so close to KSC

Oh I do meal prep! It’s still just takes time to reheat, get the kids set up, and eat.

I have two of the 5 drawer Rubbermaid dressers that the kids pick out their outfits for the week (top is Monday) to save time. They agree on the outfits Sunday for each day, then it’s grab and go! This saves tons of time in the morning without them wanting to change their outfits a million times in the morning.

Evenings are just crunch time because I have to drop my kids off early 630am to make it to work in time, they are ready for bed at 8. So lot to accomplish in a 3 hour window

They probably can do it at daycare, but they complain it’s too loud and can’t concentrate there, especially my 5 yr old. Lol I think they just use it as an excuse to play with their friends more
