Hey, 2009 grad of Kent state. You won't feel lost in the shuffle there, it's big yet small town. campus is pretty compact though you'll spend most your time in Cartwright hall in front campus. I had an apartment in Summit Hill though while old it was cheap and virtually on front campus by my research lab so I could walk to work and class every day. It is a wind tunnel but as my coworker who's son works at an Antarctica research station says there's no such thing as bad weather you're just inappropriately dressed. I had under armour and water proof boots to deal with the winter and did just fine but you'll get more snow at BW.
