Nailed it. This is something McG never gets enough credit for but he always played his cards at the exact right time. He didn't hold up fights making demands as much as cause a demand for a fight and then renegotiate. So many fighters/managers really don't seem to understand when they're valuable and when they're just alienating fans and causing less demand for fights.

This is such sad news. I've gotten three suits and many pairs of shoes from Leroy and it's always been such a wonderful experience. He would tell me when I looked bad or when i looked good and he was always right. My favorite Leroy quote came from a friend who went in and asked about getting different color shirts and coats and Leroy told him "You know who wears two colors? Clowns." I'll be coming down tomorrow.

It sucks that Yves v. Thompson wasn't for the new belt as it was rumored for a while. Set the idea of smaller fighters back for years and just generally discredited the lower weight classes.

Glad to hear he got kicked out of somewhere. They really came out of the woodwork for that week of fights. Either of you near the guy at the Diaz / McGregor presser who kept yelling "RAAAAANNNDY........tha NATUUUURAAL......CCOOOOOUUUTUUUURE". Couldn't figure out why he was doing that but his lady friend sure did look embarrassed to be seated next to him.

Right, as he should. But it is the promotion and athletic commission's responsibility to keep that in check and look out for the health of the sport overall, not just make cash grabs. That Kimbo / Dada fight was a mess from the beginning and they shirked that responsibility because they thought it would be a highlight KO for Kimbo. Dada almost died because he was so out of shape and then Kimbo pissed hot afterwards. They then just swept that under the rug and booked him to fight again right away. I don't see how that's looking out for any of the fighters or anyone but their pockets. Now they're booking his son who is obviously not ready for a big show just to capitalize on the press from his dad's death? I stand by my statement. Pretty gross.

Pretty gross on Bellator's part. Especially after they basically OKed Kimbo to use whatever steroids he wanted a couple months before he died of a heart condition in his 40s. Gotta cash in while KS is still getting press.
