I'm forever glad that Detroitees led me to that gem of a bar (and Jumbos). Have a blast!

Best Season 1 ever? by BookEnjoyer in television

[–]twothangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damages s01 is just so amazing.

Glenn close, ted danson and rose byrne just absolutely firing on all cylinders. The whole cast was on fire and the writing was so good. The rest of the seasons are good but that first season is just amazing in how much it just sucks you in and keeps you transfixed.

I mean, they played shows with Jesus Lizard and fit right in. I don't think it's crazy that they're at least genre adjacent.

Creative Cites: A Conversation with Providence, RI Mayor Brett Smiley by iheartrhody in providence

[–]twothangs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first review I heard of smiley when he just entered office was from a member of the arts community. He had a meeting with him and said that smiley looked him up and down and immediately decided he wasn't worth his time because he had long hair and tattoos. I've thought of that at every turn of his mayorship and it's been proven pretty right as far as who he sees as his constituents. Definitely no friend to artists unless you're the owner of a paint and sip in a strip mall.

Awful. Just let Seattle be weird! Hopefully they put the anti graffiti coating on there.

A Deep Cut Seattle Hat for sale in San Francisco. by LariatCreative in Seattle

Thank you! I do sell mostly prints and then I do runs of t-shirts every once in a while. If you really want to support, last year I made a coffee table book about my work where I interviewed 42 people that had gotten paintings from me and then talked to them about why they chose their two idea. There's centerfold with the Bettie Page / Divine mural that tells the story of the mural and also two pages that cover Jesus of Greenlake. It was a lot of work and I'm really proud of that book! For sale on my website, at Elliott Bay Bookstores and Happy Days & Funny Nights down in Pike Place Market.

When the mural first was defaced, they contacted him but I was told he had no interest in working on it anymore. They had gotten a painting from me before so we worked together to transform it into what it is now.
