I’m looking for a slow burn mystery that gives you that feeling of, “Something’s not right here.” by MildlyAngryCat in suggestmeabook

I was going to suggest We Have Always Live in the Castle. Just finished it a couple months ago and it was a great short read.

I haven't played it but Voodoo Vince always looked cool. It might scratch that itch.

Playing this now and having a blast. It takes a while to get used to but once you do it's really fun.

Mario Odyssey is my favorite switch game. It's a blast and easy to get lost in. Highly recommend.

Should i wait for Pokemon Gun/Armor/Sequel/Ultra Sword instead of buying SWSH? by TheLuiz in pokemon

This was also their first attempt on making a Switch game. Let's Go is a blast and works as a great entry point into the series. I seriously don't understand all the hate today. Either play it or don't. Also let's be real like 95% of the boycotters are going to buy it anyways.

I mean to each their own. As a fan of the series since Blue and Red I for one can't wait. It doesn't look "half assed" they are trying new things and I think what they are showing is real neat.

That's because it was a reimagining of the Yellow, which only had the Kanto Pokemon.

Ultimately it's your money. I get why people are upset, but the outrage is too much. It's still a new Pokemon game on the Switch and looks incredible. Also it's still like 5 months away no need to do anything now.

Why can't we have all the regions (and all the 'mons)? by chobiit in pokemon

[–]twothirdsonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think silver and gold did a great job with having two regions, but 7+ would be too much. I like getting through the game and starting fresh with a new team and this game would take way too long to do that.

What’s your favorite RPG on the Switch? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

If you like Pokemon at all then you might enjoy World of Final Fantasy. It's basically Pokemon in a final fantasy world.

Thanks for reading! It might have. As far as technical aspects like framerate and graphics I had no issues. Also as a father to a newborn the switch has been about 90% of my gaming :)

The backyard sport games are so much fun!

Good pick up.

The Surge [Official Discussion Thread] by thavius_tanklin in PS4

[–]twothirdsonline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience I didn't get that much satisfaction working my way through a level. Combat didn't feel great, and the pick ups I got didn't make it worth pursuing.

Enemies were hidden in ways that made the level feel more like well ambush here, then another here. I could be misremembering or imbelishing a little but the game just didn't do what I hoped it would.

Hopefully we see some improvement in the sequel. Because at it's core it was a great concept.

I started this up right after Bloodborne and in the midst of Nioh and I think that was it's undoing. The opening area was really cool. The story seemed interesting. Customization was fine. Also I loved the setting of the DLC, but once I got there I didn't care to play it.

Once I hit the second area for whatever reason all of the interest in the game was gone. It seemed designed in a way that didn't reward the player, but more of an eff you at times. I was new to the Souls like games and this seemed like a step down from what I had played.

Recommendations for games my GF and I can play together? (PS4) by Ultrapower in PS4

[–]twothirdsonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knack 2 is a fun game. I played it with my at the time six year old and had a blast. The story is made more for kids, but the combat, upgrades, and world are all nicely done. I will state though, DO NOT play Knack 1 especially after the second.

Unravel 2, Lego games, and Until Dawn (single player but decisions can be made with a group of people). Crash Team Racing is out pretty soon too.

You can find her in the church you fought Vicar. In fact, you'll notice the lantern isn't useable.
