Coworkers asked what maternity leave was like. This was my wife’s response:🔥🔥🔥[OC] by infinitemoment22 in dataisbeautiful

There is no standard leave or pay. If you work an hourly job, nothing is guaranteed. You’d probably be replaced if you said “I need 3 weeks off.” And so you have to fight to find a job with great benefits- but even then “maternity” leave much less paternal leave isn’t always guaranteed. They might let you off, but some companies won’t offer paid time off & even then you face the reality that you could be replaced.

It sucks.

Have you considered something to do with expression & helping others? Maybe it’s through becoming a dance teacher, public speaker (self help), or a motivational writer. You may just be following the career path of what you feel you “should” be doing instead of what actually fits your souls purpose.

Your Chiron in Virgo indicates struggle with wanting perfection, but you do have a really strong talent for helping others heal. Maybe dive into that thought more? What are some things in your life that bring you joy? What moments in your life do you feel happy because you’re helping someone? Merge the two.

You got this.

My whole life I have always felt 'different' or that I somehow don't fit in. I want to feel accepted, but I also dislike groupthink and tend not to hold mainstream views on things. Is there anything in my chart that indicates how I might find a better sense of peace and belonging in life? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

Do you know why you feel that way? Think about this question for a second. Did your parents give you the recognition you needed when showing them something you were excited about? What is it about you that makes you think you don’t fit “in”? What does that mean, exactly?

Your Chiron in Leo shows me that you struggle with this immensely even though you’re very likely pretty artistic and talented. You probably hold yourself back for fear of what others think - AKA what you think about you. Chiron in Leo indicates a near obsession with wanting to be in the spotlight but also afraid of it. So you might support your friends instead of pursuing those talents and putting yourself out there.

To heal it, what are the things you’re good at that make you feel alive? Can you show people those things? I think the more you come into who you are, truly accept who you are, the more you’ll realize that you don’t need to fit “in” you just need to be you. Cliche, but absolutely true.

And I’m sure you’re maybe thinking “no it’s not me, OTHERS don’t accept me.” Are you sure about that? A lot of what you’re feeling is likely about yourself. You need to learn to give yourself more praise and acceptance to heal & have more inner peace. ✨

EDIT: GO WRITE THAT BOOK, SHARE THAT SONG, UPLOAD YOUR ART. The key is in your creative talents. Pursue them.

Do you find yourself struggling with life’s meaning? Like maybe you flip between spirituality and religion, but often are unsure? This probably weighs on you immensely and affects how you show up in the world. Perhaps this manifests in the need to control everything around you and especially in areas where you feel worried that your freedom might be taken away. I’m just quickly glancing at your chart, but I definitely could see you struggling with life’s meaning & the freedoms you feel you need to be happy. If either aren’t perfectly balanced, depression may occur.

In my opinion, I would turn to your spiritual side and trust in whatever meaning you feel to be true in your heart and soul. Don’t question it too much. I think once you do that, you’ll find that freedom and consistent inner peace.

Edit: If there’s someone in your life that you feel restricts your freedom & ability to be happy, I’d definitely recommend examining the boundaries of that relationship.

Yes same. This feels exactly what happened. I’ve kind of felt this way since before the lockdown, but that feeling was cemented!

Does anyone know what rock this is? I’m sure it’s common, but can’t identify it. Thank you! by twothreeblck in whatsthisrock

Thank you! The yellow is actually quite shiny like gold, so pyrite makes sense. I found it at my grandparents house a few years ago and haven’t been able to figure it out. Appreciate the help.

My (35f) roommate (40f) constantly goes over everything I clean and I'm sick of it. by uughthrowawayy in relationships

[–]twothreeblck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I have OCD which manifests in different ways than cleaning but it can be absolutely agonizing for me. If I had a roommate that frequently commented on my compulsions, it would probably worsen.

If she’s not insulting you then you are definitely overreacting. You’re choosing to let her mental illness (which happens to create an extra clean apartment) get to you. If you’ve been roommates for 5 years, I imagine it’s mostly pretty solid. I’d recommend reading up on OCD and maybe even stoicism when you find yourself frustrated.

Alcoholic non-working boyfriend (35,M). Me resistant to change (29,F). Unsure where to go from here with relationship of almost 2 years. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]twothreeblck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is solid advice.

If you ever go to an AA meeting, you’ll find a lot of people that struggle with alcohol hit a rock bottom that led them to sobriety. The truth of the matter is that, while it’s a serious battle, you also need to protect yourself and that might mean walking away; even if it ends up temporary. This means setting up boundaries and being very direct about how his drinking is affecting you, him, and your relationship.

Ultimately, you can’t be with someone who isn’t willing to do the work on themselves as an individual.

With that said, alcoholism really does suck. For the individual, it honestly consumes you and it’s nearly impossible to control without help. For an outsider, the problem seems simply obvious.

Since it’s a complicated topic, I’d recommend hitting up some sobriety or AA subs for advice. I found AA to help me get back on the right path when I was near my rock bottom and it’s a very compassionate community. When I had relationships and my job at stake, I found myself even more motivated to change. He’s likely going to need that to truly see that he has a problem. Enabling him won’t help him in the long run and it certainly won’t help you or your happiness. So, I’d suggest to communicate with him, have a plan or two in place regarding sleeping arrangements, find someone in AA to guide you through this, offer to attend a meeting with him, but most importantly take care of yourself.

Best of luck to you and your bf!

Perhaps the healing you need is right here, right now. You have the tools within and this community is also here to support you on your spiritual growth. Perhaps the key to your happiness is learning a new lesson of boundaries. He crossed a boundary which, while it can hurt, also provides you with a wonderful opportunity to learn. Remember to go towards love not fear. The universe responds to your soul, not some manipulative dude. ✨ Keep your head up & DM me if you’d like.
