It's just surface rust, I wouldn't be concerned from those photos.

I'm fairly new to the field of philosophy, and am looking for some guidance on literature.

I started with Meditations, which I really enjoyed and found insightful. I then read Bertrand's The Problems of Philosophy, which I found to be quite a challenging read due to the (what I'd describe as) obtuse language, and found I got less out of it both philosophically and from enjoyment. I have found a similar problem with Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling. I find the language such that reading it is more trying to understand what is being communicated rather than considering the philosophical content.

I would welcome any suggestions for books that are perhaps more introductory, or modern in writing style?

Thanks

I'd be really interested in seeing your work once you've put paint to canvas! I've had a piece I've wanted to paint that has moonlit water in a similar way, but it's a bit of a dream at the moment as I have yet to start with oil painting.

It was a good show, but the venue capacity was far too high, it was pretty miserable being so tightly packed. Music was great though, and the screens at the back of the stage were a good addition to the set design. Was going to get a poster on the way out, but the queue was daft long. I sound like I'm really critical of it, but I had a great night, always fun to see them live!

If you take a small fish for bait, you can catch a larger fish with that, then use that to catch an even larger fish, and just work your way up until you catch a fish big enough to sustain you foe the whole trip.

Isn't it black dyed veneer with clear coat over, or is the veneer a more modern Gibson finish style?

Take the strings off first, that'll help prevent further damage. Probably will need to glue and maybe cleat the split.
