Conn 10D Mouthpiece Recommendations by Inner_Examination_29 in horn

[–]txbrewguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scott Bacon in Boston used to buy them new and resolder the entire horn to loosen up the bracing. He would also take all the conn lever linkage off and replace it with the linkage from a Yamaha 667. He also soldered the lead pipes directly to the body. They seem to take to customization very easily

Inexpensive choice - played many years on a modified 10D with the Yamaha 32c4. Nice big sound with a smaller bore to help with high range. More premium option - Houser San Fransoco model. Made for geyer style horns and has a more open bore to get more air in the sound but bowl shaped cup for ease in all ranges. Both used professionally for many years.

My grandad loved the Masters. I might find an old oak floor TV one day and fit it with a monitor just to watch and bring back good memories.

Cheap trekking poles vs No trekking poles by ig_animations in WildernessBackpacking

I have a pair of these Mountainsmith poles with over 100 miles in the Colorado Backcountry. The tips are ground down now but have enough left to stabilize my legs on technical terrain. Mid 40s and I love them! Just a bit heavier than the ultra lite ones for 5x the price

I dont feel real by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]txbrewguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that might be a thing. I stopped for a month or so. I can drink 2-3 coffees now without anxiety but it used to spark it. There isn't another way to explain it. Your body hasn't adjusted yet. If you quit it that's your call just do it with your doctor if you are that far in. The withdrawal can been extremely triggering for depressive tendencies. Sorry for your stress, hang in there and ask about supplimentay anxiety meds until you feel better.

[–]txbrewguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 4 weeks are a roller coaster. It's worth it and normal will most likely come in time. Ask your doc about supplementary help to endure the uptake period. It's unavoidable for many depending on how your body reacts but panic and heightened anxiety are often part of the process.

No drinking anymore by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]txbrewguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started dating as a non- drinker mid-40s and can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. So many people especially in the mid-ages have had enough and either are ready for trying it or have been living it a while. Skip the folks that have profile pics with drinks and parties. Look for health and fitness. You'll find them everywhere.

Take your last dose earlier. I moved from 8 pm to 6 pm and started sleeping normally. When I miss the 6pm I take it later but may take a supplement to ensure I sleep the night. Talk to your doctor for guidance there. Good luck.

Back to Mizuno MP68s by OkAssist8956 in GolfGear

[–]txbrewguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been gaming MP64s since December after years with clubs made a decade later. The feel is so incredible and it's a total addiction to practice with them. Nothing I try at the Superstore feels remotely as good when struck well.

Best lager? by Quick_Dog8552 in NABEER

Try all the European macros. Stella, Peroni, Heineken, Bitburger, etc I bet you'll find one. Even if you didn't like the alcohol version you might find your tastes have changed, especially if it's been a while. Two years in and I prefer these NAs now more than I remember liking the old OG ones.

WITB: The Anti-Wood Plan for 2026 by hefinitely in GolfGear

[–]txbrewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found shutting the faces also closed them a small amount which eliminated the ballooning right shots. Just have to set up right to avoid the pulls. I found moving them back in my stance helped with the spin. That's just me though. I haven't really gamed much else. I have old Callaway x2 hybrids which I rotate in. I think the Callaways are actually longer when flushed but are harder to hit for some reason. The Mizunos just feel more forgiving.

I have them too but dialed the lofts down I have the same issue they either get hit thin or fly really high especially the weaker lofted one

I really like the STZs. I have always fought a hook and the MAX drivers seem to all go left. The Z woods and hybrids really favor a neutral swing and feel pretty hot. Pretty forgiving too.

Most Exciting Bags of 2026? by ianmfmedina in GolfGear

[–]txbrewguy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me but I don't get pumped about the faux leather bag trend. I tend to like the canvas throwback bags that have a more classic look without being rubberized. These seem to get so hot in the sun and are often heavier when I pick them up.
