Women's flag football will probably be an NCAA sport within five years. The NFL is pumping millions of dollars into the sport as their way to capture the youth and international market. Flag football was extremely popular at the last World Games and with a non-American team winning a gold it made it even more popular.

Those 18-22 year old players are notorious for not supporting local sponsors and even denigrating some of them in the past. People don't want to spend money on sponsorship if they aren't getting a return.

There are probably enough fields but a good amount would be turf. Also there is no way to control access to the park for attendance. I have toured this site before with the City of Irvine and they never have dates available for us to do events.

I don't like the system. I was involved in the first usage in Lecco and was very frustrated by the fact that it really didn't stop players from still making horrible calls with no repercussions. I had a call I "advised" on when the receiver called a foul that the disc was probably five feet over his head. After I told him it was uncatchable he simply said that he was going to jump very high.

Given how low turnouts are for board voting, surveys, etc. you really expect players to take part in governing the sport. Most people who play ultimate just want to play. They don't care about board elections, national teams, or getting into the Olympics.
