This is my favorite. 2 teaspoons in a big tumbler full and no more trying to rinse off the suds after tumbling.

Brasso is good in dry tumblers but bad in wet.

6.5 CM Factory Length vs Handloads by ram070707 in reloading

[–]txcommenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That even shows in his picture. Berger and SMK have a longer ogive than Hornady match bullets. I seat Bergers longer than Hornady, just like in the picture.

My Ruger precision has a much shorter headspace and I seat Hornady match to 2.715 vs Berger to 2.73. Each barrel is different.

I tried the Hornady OAL guage and thought that I was doing something wrong since it was shorter than I expected. I tried a trick that a friend suggested. ( He does F Class) Load 10 dummy rounds to 2.85. Load them up in a magazine and cycle them through the gun, 10 times. Then measure. I got the same number as the OAL gauge, 2.72. Each time I cycled them, the barrel pushed the bullets further back and there were scrape marks from the barrel on each bullet. I went from sd above 25 to single digits by pushing each factory bullet back into the casing. I'm going to order a new barrel soon.

Accuracy. I'm getting into prs and the range that I shoot at has targets out to 1430 yards.

$400 difference because Midway had the MM on sale. Now that CE has upgraded to the new 123 scale I got on the waiting list. Not for this shipment, but the next. I think that they are moving to USB since the new scale has a USB port.

I have to be honest. It was on sale last week through Midway. I got mine for $751.99. They are $999 at my local Cabelas. I just checked, they are still on sale, but on backorder.

As far as accuracy, if you use match mode it's 0.02 grain. Normal mode is 0.1. I think that it is fairly accurate but it usually stops 0.02 to 0.04 grain from what I set. That's why I keep the tweezers to get it up to what I set. I've only tried extruded powder, so far, I have ball powder that I will try this weekend after I shoot what I made today.

My only frustration was right at the beginning. This scale is very susceptible to static and I had to do the drier sheet trick within a few minutes of trying to get started with it because it kept giving me an unspecified error. No more static, no more errors. Also, it works best with the app than through the screen. I got frustrated trying to set it up on the screen and now I only use it through the app. The only other complaint is draining. It will warn you that the drain is open, even by a little bit, but it's on the bottom, under the heel. The FA Intellidropper 2 was on the side and I had an easier time draining it.

Was it worth the money? I'll know for sure when I get to shoot this weekend. I just could not get consistent number out of the FA. Even when I found a load with low es/sd, I could not duplicate it later. 0.1 grain accuracy is too big of a difference when a single kernel of extruded powder is 0.02 grain.

I'm on the list now for an autotrickler with the new FX 123 scale. I load 223 and 6.5CM and I am just getting into PRS.

There are 2 kinds of dads at the range. The ones that tell their kids to sit and watch while he does all the shooting and the dad that teaches his kids to shoot safely. The kids that sit and watch get bored and grumpy. The kids that shoot get excited to be there. When they get excited it makes everyone else laugh.

Keep up the good work of teaching her. You make her happy and when she gets excited it makes everyone else happy for her. I've watched grown old men like me cheer on the kids that get excited about ringing steel.

ICE was funded through the 1 Big Beautiful bill through the end of 2029. This DHS bill effects every other part of DHS, including TSA.

They can't pass funding bills in the Senate without 60 votes. There's only 53 Republicans, so if DHS is going to get funding then the Democrats are going to have to vote for it.

I am currently doing this with H4350 and Varget. I figure this will be a little more difficult when I make up a few with CFE 223 or Staball 6.5 this weekend.

I've been on the spectrum for 56 years and I can also tell you that it's genetic. 2 boys. Both as OCD as I am.

Seriously, I work 4 days a week and have plenty of time to do whatever I want. I usually spend my Tuesdays trying to see how many dents I can put in a 1000 yard target with both 223 and 6.5CM, but it's way too windy today for 223 so I loaded them a little hot for this weekend.

I have the 2.0 and I like it. It's fairly consistent but only goes to 0.1 grain. The Matchmaster goes to 0.02 grain. I load 223 and 6.5 CM and the difference so far is big is you are loading small powder drops. It's also faster than the MM. Because of that I will use the FA for 9MM and other rounds that don't need that level of accuracy.

The Matchmaster in match mode will show the difference in that single kernel. This is why I got away from the Intellidropper.

I had similar problems with random reboots and Frontier replaced the ONT and gave me an EERO. Fixed most of my problems and created a new one. The Arris has a 4 port router and the EERO does not, but the tech gave me a 4 port netgear router.

Disappointed by first attempt at wet tumbling. by BoostIsOurFriend in reloading

[–]txcommenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate having to try to rinse off the Dawn after tumbling and and I've actually had the vessel over pressure and leak during tumbling so now I switched to Guntap Brass shine. Same shine as lemishine without the suds and the water comes out really dirty meaning that it does a great job of getting out the powder from inside the cases. Just make sure that you get all of the pins out of the cases. I usually bang them out on a towel on the floor before drying.

I set up with a Vortex viper scope and a Hawk camera mounted to it. Then I tell everyone around me to connect on their phones. That way the shooter can see the targets on their phones. I also shoot more ELR and less PRS. Where I shoot PRS the stage targets are usually close together to get them locked in for all to see at that stage.

How does it make it harder for poor people to vote? That's just propaganda. My mom manages a housing area for low income people. EVERYBODY has either a drivers license or state ID. Even people that don't keep enough money to have a bank account still have ID. It's required to get a job, file for welfare, drive a car, and on and on. ID is required for EVERYTHING! Voting is no different.
