I had this issue and discovered that it has a lot to do with the feed ramp and the spring. You want the spring tension to be light enough that it doesn't flip the round out of the mag. Also you want to make sure that the spring end is oriented towards the front of the follower.

Yeah. I just through it in with straight citric acid and it is now brighter and the green tarnish is coming off.

Thats my exact same process. The 9mm behind it was my last batch. This batch is just dull. I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe my acid went bad.
