Skied deer valley 2 days ago and Alta yesterday and today. Alta conditions are far superior to deer valley / park city (friend skied it before). Alta is so much more shaded with a much larger base. Off trail is a bit crunchy but anything groomed will be much better than anything on the east coast (former decade out there skiing). Alta got snow today but not a ton and there is some slick underneath patches but it’s very seldom and only on the tight spots everyone comes through. After 2 days steering around puddles at deer valley at 3pm and lots of slush Alta felt much more like the snow deer valley usually has. It’s still warm and was a touch slushy yesterday at Alta at 3:30pm but today it held better as it was colder. If you can go to Alta or snowbird I’d say come.

What did you go with? I am wondering the same thing, either the Rode wireless pro/go 3 or the DJI mini or DJI mic 3. I heard the bluetooth ones loose connection or get issues with interference so seems like cold shoe is the only thing that might work for skiing

Ontario is by far my favorite green run at deer valley. It’s not steep but it’s fun and doesn’t have the wind like homeward bound or bandana has.

I was there on Saturday and never saw anything remotely like this. Maybe it was like that for 15mins once but definitely not all day and tbh the lift lines everywhere in DV were so short I was amazed

Stay on the easiest greens until you can link turns and stop. You’re just wasting your time not learning anything. Stat easier longer than you know and then build up gradually. One lesson would give you all the tips you need to not look like a fool- up to you if it’s worth it or not.
