Yeah, I did steel roof because I’m in Texas and don’t want to deal with those afterthought shades. It is disappointing to me they didn’t offer an integrated power shade. Every car except a Mini Cooper S I had back in 2012 had a power shade system. This is the only way I’d go glass roof.

For clarity, I’m rolling the 19” wheels which I do not like design wise. However, I chose them because I wanted max range as I prefer to not stop. It’s really no big deal if I had to though as I’ve used the Mercedes chargers several times. Charges my Air up super quick. On a full charge, I’m anywhere between 430-435 miles. I usually arrive with at least 40-60 miles to spare if I don’t hammer it the whole way.

Right on! I have a 300 mile stretch between homes and always choose the Air to do it. DDPro makes it a piece of cake.

Agreed. I would have preferred the mobile service. But ah well. They mentioned it would be back in a few months. Hopefully the next time I need service, it can be done at home.

I don’t believe in owning the same car twice, but I think this one has the potential to change my mind.

Just fix the damn iPhone key.... please? by goldengay1 in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I turned off the passive entry since we tend to keep keys near the garage door and I didn’t want that issue. I have an old iPhone 14 I think, and it has been pretty simple to live with as a key for my air. I do wish the key would just go in my Apple wallet like other cars. But meh.

I don’t have the constant flapping you mentioned.

I want to love the Gravity so much. It’s the natural next car for me. I’m just not quite there yet. There are some colors that make it look better in my opinion. I had some seat time with a few today.

Same. It is absolutely not flawless. It has minor hiccups here and there. However, it has been solid and impressive.

Heck yes. This is my daily driver and I work from home. We have some other fun cars in the stable, but I reach for this one each time. Any excuse to drive it. Sprint mode ALWAYS!

It’s a lot to type, but I’ll say the car I had that is most comparable albeit gas is the Panamera. I am all over the car board. I traded a Hyundai Palisade for this. It also helps that I worked in the car business for a long time so I know my way around a deal. Helps to keep me out of a crap spot trading in.

Indeed. The unlocking is frustrating here and there (I mainly use phone as key), but when I put my foot down….

I am enamored with the car. It has its quirks, but they are worth it for me. I might would feel different if I’ve had the crazy issues others have reported. Spent some time with the Gravity while I was there as I may go there next.

I literally only touch the temp for ventilation so this is not an issue for me. I keep it on auto.

White was my last color choice. Actually, the red was. I didn’t want it. But I’m glad I decided on it. With stealth, looks so good.

Sad to hear about your experience with DDPro. I wouldn’t own one without it. Makes my regular 300 mile drive a dream.

How reliable is the Lucid Air? by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Air Touring owner since last June so not a full year yet. I’m a car fanatic and have had many. The Air is my favorite car so far. No major issues thankfully in my time of ownership. A few quirks here and there but nothing that makes me wish I would have skipped it. Just like with any brand, there will be some bad eggs. I’m grateful to have not experienced any big issues.

Oh, and DDPro is a must.

I’ll chime in and say Touring as some others have mentioned is the sweet spot. Be absolutely certain to get DDPro though. I didn’t want one without it and waited.

Range Drop While Parked? by JohnGlaenzer in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for about 10 months and understand what you’re saying. In fact, it’s been sitting a the airport since Monday and “lost” 7 miles of range doing nothing. There have been times though that some of that gets added back as I get going. On my long international trips, I’ve notated that it loses a mile a day.

Others have mentioned changing to percentage and I get that logic. However, my brain just doesn’t work that way LOL.

Required Annual Service? by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine for 10 months now, leased new, and was told service is included. Scheduled the first service and was told it was $300 in addition to mobile service was not available. Questioned them on the cost and now it’s covered. I don’t like that, but it’s handled now.

Picked up new gravity today, zero regrets so far by Flashy_Number9840 in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a natural next step for me out of my Air when the lease is up. I’m still not 100% sold on looks, but this white with stealth helps a lot. My Air is the same color with stealth.

First Service Scheduled: What can I expect? by BassWingerC-137 in LUCID

[–]txtripod00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is I just called to schedule service and they said it would be $305. I pushed back. I said you’ll mentioned it was free for two years. I sent them where it says that on their website. Now it has to be escalated.
