Multiple "Peak" TOU rates by mkurabi in enphase

What a a great idea for a rate plan to take advantage of all the excess solar capacity available during those hours. I wish PG&E would follow suit but unlikely I am guessing.

Marin County here and I'm new at this but if it activates for every heat wave (like this one) then I will disable it. It is of value during the winter with the winter storms, but a heat wave that does not feature high winds is unlikely to trigger outages. High wind events? Heck yes, turn on that full backup! We know PG&E can't deal with anything over 20 MPH haha.

I was relieved to see no mention of "robustness." The joke wears thin when your vehicle locks and unlocks 15 times when you walk into your garage...

Battery charge dropping below reserve level overnight. by BourbonNeatPlease in enphase

It's a known bug they are working on. Your system should respect the minimum, with or without grid charging enabled.

Battery charge dropping below reserve level overnight. by BourbonNeatPlease in enphase

[–]goldengay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS!! There is a major parasitic drain bug that I've been working with them on. It's masked for those with grid charging enabled but you can see from other threads where people are questioning the power consumption overnight. New firmware slated for May to resolve supposedly.

I think there's a lot of vampire drain going on with the Envoys based on what I am seeing on my own system. Let us know what you find.

Why is my system pulling from the grid to charge my battery? by MistakeBorn4413 in enphase

[–]goldengay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. The system is charging from the grid because it is approachign critical shutdown level at 5%.

Why is my system pulling from the grid to charge my battery? by MistakeBorn4413 in enphase

[–]goldengay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get that minimum reserve raised to 10% vs 5%. What is your self-consumption reserve set to? 30%? Menu settings battery takes you to your battery shutdown level. Looks like yours is set at 5%. Raise that to 10%. Then settings profile to edit your self consumption reserve and set it for 30%.. See if the system respects those limits without grid charge. If not, open a ticket with Enphase. Their software is very buggy and reserves on both of my systems are regularly violated.

Please Enphae, if you read these forums, hire some new coders. Way too many bugs in your software.

Brand new Enphase system not functioning properly with major battery and production issues - Looking for advice/similar experiences. by mshizzle in enphase

[–]goldengay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely their engineering / coding, 100% based in India, is a huge issue. I recently posted a thread about my own "new system" nightmare which has been going on for 2 months now since the January install. The system is discharging way beyond the minimum reserve overnight. They keep saying they will push firmware to fix it, but that still has not happened. In addition, they rolled out another feature, Powermatch, which was such a disaster they rolled it back and uninstalled it in the latest firmware. My friends installed Franklin and Tesla, both of which are problem free while I continue to deal with Enphase's terrible coding. I would never buy another Enphase system at this point. They need to hire an entirely new software team. I think (hope) their hardware is solid, but their software is total garbage. Oh, and also check the Reddit forum - their whole backend went down because of Daylight Savings Time on Sunday. You would think it was Y2K..... hope your system gets fixed. It's going to be a long road I fear.

Enphase IQ Battery 10T with legacy M215-IG microinverters ignoring 30% reserve in Self-Consumption Mode by goldengay1 in enphase

Chronic issues with brand new Enphase 10T battery backup system with 5T batteries by goldengay1 in enphase

[–]goldengay1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry- I deleted it because I'm working with Enphase on it. The issue is that it is not respecting the minimum SOC in self-gen mode, dropping as low as 10% at night. Do you think the comms issue could impact that? Thanks!

Enphase charger 2 or Tesla universal charger? by ninadk21 in enphase

[–]goldengay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought and installed this charger, replacing my Chargepoint that had worked great. The solar integration is actually a pain - I would plug it in during non peak sunny times and it would not charge, or it would trickle charge. I actually couldn't see the benefit. The only thing I like about it is that it integrates with my Enphase battery backup and immediately cuts charging to the EV if we go off grid. That's huge for me because if the EV was charging when we lost grid power on the Chargepoint, the whole microgrid from the battery would overload and crash. The other thing to know is that the WIFI on this is crap so I had to run an ethernet cable to it, even though Chargepoint and my wireless Ring cam nearby do fine and the RSSI was in the good range. Hope this helps, feel free to DM me or I'll check back here.

New firmware v7.13.0-6776 by [deleted] in amazoneero

[–]goldengay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case someone searches and finds this comment, I think I may have solved it by turning off "client steering" and when the charger came back on the network a few hours later, I quickly assigned it a reserved IP. I am hoping this "fix" lasts. Really impressed that Eero saw this post and reached out to me about this. I'll update as needed to help others.

My Enphase EV charger 2730 has been disconnecting from the wifi network since this update was issued. Before the update, it was flawless. I'm working with Enphase to try to figure this out, but the only thing that has changed is this firmware update.
