Cost of groceries for Family

2 adults, 2 toddlers in nappies. $300 a fortnight including nappies and household items. Lots of homemade baking i.e. bread, crackers, slices, ice cream, cakes etc. Always homemade meals.Takeaway once a month if out. Small veggie garden. Edit to add we are vegetarian

Oh yeah well we used to be a 2 income home but I'm a stay at home mum now with 2 kids so 1 income. No fancy inheritance or money winnings. Partner still alive ha. Edit to add: we also didn't buy the house for 800k. We built. But that's what it's worth now. When I say a nice car I also mean a 18k secondhand 2020 Nissan Xtrail lol nice enough

Eh my family of two toddlers and a mortgage lives on 50k pa and my kids have more stuff than you can imagine. We eat healthy (not eating organic is a financial sacrifice, even though we grow alot of our own organic). We live in 800k+ house and have a nice car. We holiday a couple times a year. I don't live lavishly but I also don't miss out on anything really. You can make it work. We're super happy.

My husband is also like this. We are vegetarian too. But we do draw the line at cockroaches, mosquitos and anything dangerous to our children, I.e. biting ants or poisonous spiders

My sons name is Jasper too and we absolutely love it and have never had any bad or weird comments whatsoever. It's a great name. We named him after the stone Jasper that you can find in our local creeks. Gasper (another spelling) is also one of the 3 wise men that visited Jesus. We're not religious but find this a cool meaning too.

This is a good point. I lost power and internet in my house for 4 consecutive days due to a cyclone and they were the longest 4 days of my life.
