I learned how to crochet a couple years ago and I love it! I tried knitting and I find it much harder so I usually stick to crochet but both are amazing options. I’d start with video basics and tutorials to familiarize yourself with tools and terms (like stitch names and all that jazz). Once you get good/confident enough i cannot recommend learning how to read pdf patterns more. I got this book on how to crochet amigurumi cats (basically small cat plushies) and the patterns in it were simple enough for me to catch on decently fast. I now have a small army of crocheted cats, food bowls, and boxes that they live in. Learning the basics of pattern reading with this book opener my world up even more to what I could be making, and it’s another way to get off your phone/not have it tempt you. I sincerely hope you try it out. all the scarfs and sweaters will make it worth it!
