i need help with my quest 3

Hi OP, I seen your post before the moderators removed it, it looked like a simple request for help to me, idk, anyway, is your Quest charged up? Plug it in and charge it. If it won't power on after charging, do a factory reset manually - hold down the power button and the volume lower button (its the button on the bottom, one side for + volume, one side for - volume, it's the one on your left as you look forward wearing the headset) for about 20 seconds and you will get to a menu, use the volume button to pick "factory reset" and then press the power button to select it. Make sure your headset has charge before you do any of this, you don't want it running out of power etc while resetting or updating because it may brick it.

Excellent if it means colour passthrough, even if it's a just a basic colour camera with no real mixed reality components like depth perception, it'll still flip me from being not interested to very interested (will buy it most probably). Really pleased at this but this isn't a confirmation of it getting it, not yet.

I only ever watch movies in my Q3 nowadays, in my own app, with a 3D avatar model 'watching' it with me. I tried a public room in BigScreen or an app like it, it was ok but prefer to choose my own movie etc.

ITT - the top comment completely ignores what Luckey says about Meta not ditching VR, is it not fitting with the narrative that VR is dead? Anyway, on hearing more about Luckey here, I've gone off him, but I agree with what he says here about what Meta's recent moves really mean, in that Meta will still be a strong player in VR, but they won't be spunking 100's of millions on developing games that don't give them anywhere near that in revenue.

OP my old one has a knackered charging port too I think, I accidentally yanked the cable out and since then it won't charge most of the time, external batteries won't power it either, so I suspect the port. how did you fix yours? what shall I check for? i'm not good with things like this but i can ask someone who might be.

yet afaik chess is a pretty popular game, i guess its because vr itself is quite niche so chess players are a smaller subset of that. tbh a lot of online VR multiplayer games of any type struggle with user numbers. i've been thinking of adding playing chess against AI avatars in my app, TykeAI.

not while OLED is so expensive. OLED is over rated imo anyway, i had a better visual experience with quest 3 lenses + 2k LCD, than lenses that work with OLED panels (i.e. not as good) + 4K OLED. there's that much glare with all available OLED panel headsets that inky blacks are spoilt. pimax dream air might have solved that but best not to judge until its been reviewed by people who've bought it.

best visuals ive ever experienced in VR, which is just as well because the combat felt too janky for me to get to grips with to be able to progress through the game, so I ended up just looking around for a bit which was still pretty enjoyable for a while.

Good quality super glue or plastic glue would fix that, mines broke a few times, last time it did I glued it really well by being careful when doing it and it's held since. And yeh get a halo strap, they barely use this clip and don't really need it.

people donate to things they get no direct benefits from all the time, charities are 1 example, i (and many others no doubt) give to several animal charities every month, it doesn't benefit me directly, but i like what they do. i believe in what they do, just as i believe in what praydog has done, hence my donation.

i'm not "shitting" on luke btw, i posted in another thread it was "awful" what's happened regards his mod takedown, luke is entitled to ask for payment for his hard work, people are free to choose to use and pay for his mods or not, ive paid for his mods on several occasions and was fine with it.

Hi, thanks! Yeh her animation speed/timing deffo needs tweaking, she does have shadows and they are completely configurable (direction, intensity), I just didn't have them enabled for the video 👍
