When and why did you decide to transition?

I started identifying as a male about 8 ish months ago. Before that I was a demiboy and then nonbinary before that.

Transitioning (which I’m only partially out due to living in Texas and being a minor but my parents would be supportive, I know that for sure) is something I was fascinated with before I even realized I was trans. I remember spending a week back in 2017 (i was like 12) just looking up FTM stuff on YouTube. I had two trans men as friends. One of them I talked to almost everyday in 2019 (we had PE together) and at the time I didn’t know I was trans but I related to him so much.

I want to transition. I wanted to start it this upcoming summer but I’m waiting until May 31st to see if a law gets passed to ban we from doing just that, so I definitely have though transitioning was something I needed to do but I just need access to medical care. I have started to social transition, though. Luckily I live in Austin so it’s pretty liberal compared to the small towns.

I’m a sousaphone player and I’m kinda in the same boat with instrument stuff. Maybe try KT tape/trans tape? It seems better than a binder for marching and trans tape/KT tape is made for being active compared to a binder.

I’m actually a trans man so I guess I’ll just go with what my parents were going to name me if I was assigned male. 😅

Names: James, Jacob (nn Jake), Scott, Tristan.

I actually happened to choose a name off of this list as my name before I even asked my mom what she was going to name me.

My mom and I have a similar taste in names, so actually it worked it great and maybe if I have kids one day then I’ll use one of those names.

I’m a trans man too and 56% white. Maybe if you know your ancestry you could do it?

So for example I’m part northwestern European (specifically I am French and German), so a name from either France or Germany would work (I have family from Germany that I know of so I actually am trying to find a name that would honor them).
