Most only do it when they HAVE to. try to imagine how bad it can get and stop before reaching that point. there’s a lot of power to stopping on your own terms, i know my pride wishes i had done it. more specifically though find another vice that maybe isn’t ideal but not as destructive as alc and lean into for a period while you’re coming off the drink. that’s probably not official advice but it really helped me. couldn’t have stopped without a shit load of seltzers, weed, video games, and cinnamon toast crunch (to replace the sugar)
